Hey NBR, recently been playing ANY 3D games and I get some random stutter...and it gets very annoying now; just a few mins ago the stutter killed me in MW2 .

Using 186.81 drivers by the way and yes I have reinstalled it with Driver Sweeper/CCCleaner. GPU Temps are within 70 C when playing and CPU 70C - 80 C. I don't know what's causing these stutters...it plays very smooth then just suddenly slows down...then smoothens itself out. Reinstalled Intel chipset drivers didn't work either. It didn't used to be like this before :(

EDIT: Checked vents and heatsink and not much dust clutter

    EDIT 2: Confirmed that L4D2 / L4D / MW2 / Wings of Prey / Dragon Age / Mass Effect 2 and even Warcraft 3 :\ has stutters but not Dirt 2 haha

Is the Laptop plug in for power. I have noticed you almost need to keep the laptop plugged in to play any high demanding games and can't run off battery.

You're going to want to check out the powermizer thread. It seems to have solved my stuttering issues for the most part.

Ah actually I found out what the cause was; the vents were blocked when I game on the table. I think the heat was given back into the laptop itself, not good. Problem solved by putting my lord of the rings book on the bottom :) And thanks for the powermizer suggestion, might come in handy
