    Hi everyone,

I have a Sager NP5760-C laptop that I bought a couple of years ago. Other than some massive overheating problems it's been a decent laptop.

Today I've run into a severe problem - When I plug the power brick into the wall, the power indicator on the brick glows a steady green indicating everything is normal. When I put the power connector into the laptop, though, the power indicator on the brick flashes rapidly and no power gets to the laptop. I cannot start-up my laptop (the battery is out of juice).

    I've tried the following:

    1. Removed the battery and tried booting without the battery.
    2. Swapped the HD.
    3. Swore at it a few times.
    4. Sacrificed a chicken (OK, it was KFC, so I wouldn't *swear* it was an actual chicken).
    5. Posted a message here.

So far, nothing's worked and my laptop is a giant (and I do mean giant) paperweight. I had thought #4 would work (has in the past...), but no such luck. I do not have a spare brick or battery, so cannot test those.

Anybody have any ideas on what is causing the problem? Is this a brick issue? Connector? Power supply? Freak of nature? Global warming? Anything?

I'd be extremely grateful if anyone has any ideas.

    Thanks in advance,

    Eugene.

    remove all non-essential hardware:
    - HDD
    - Optical Drive
    - Wifi card
    - TV Tuner card
    - Bluetooth
    - ... even the battery

    see if it starts.

    if not, then re-seat / re-secure the:
    - vidoecard module
    - RAM sticks
    - CPU

No, the connector jack feels solid. That is what I assumed it was initially too. :-(
