Are there any drivers for the dvd player of the m570u? since i'm having problems with reading some dvd's i hope i can try other drivers than the standard windows driver. The only information about the dvd player i have is the name: "Compal TSD80Y1 DVD RW".

I can play most dvd's and cd's, but i have also an dvd which was readable in my notebook, but now it isn't (it's almost never readable, but at random number of days it do is readable again). That same dvd is still readable in 4 other dvd players so the dvd isn't broken. Same Sh*t happens with a dual layer dvd and a few other dvd's too. I've chosen a dvd region which i never done before with my notebook, but the region is the same as the regions of the other 4 dvd players. So i dont think that's the problem. I also used a dvd which cleans the lence, but not any effect at all too.

I hope ya can help me out!

Optical drives never really require drivers.

just use software that is up-to-date enough to support it.

Most Nero versions will work fine.

As for unreadable disc, it usually has to do with the firmware of the drive. If the firmware is not updated enough, the drive is not compatible with that particular media.

    firmware? what is that exactly?

and do you know which firmware i should choose? (only things i know about dvd rw is written in the posts above)

Also does the firmware have anything to do with a normal dvd i always was able to play and now i dont?

If thats the case, it could be that the optical drive is dirty or the disc is scratched or damaged.

Firmware gives the optical drive more compatibility for newer media (DVD-R's, CD-R's, etc...).

hmm the disc isn't scratched or damaged, because in every pc at home it works
I also cleaned the lence with a cd, but i dont know if 5 minutes of playing that disk is enough:

track 1 is 58 mins long, but after 2 min the track says your optical device is cleaned, play track 2.
Track 2 is 3 mins long and plays some music to test if optical device works. When i've done that i could read the dirt disk immediatly, but when i installed the game i had to reboot and then it didn't work anymore somehow.

so you are using an Audio CD....?

I would recommend to turn off the notebook.
    - turn on the Audio DJ
    - insert the disc into the Optical Drive
    - and play the music CD with the Audio DJ to see if it has the same issue.

If it has the same issue... then its probably the drive (not a big deal... easy to replace).

If the Audio DJ plays the disc perfectly... then its a setting/config/software in Windows.

To make this even more strange (it's happening since yesterday): When i start my notebook i normally see the time, the battery etc.
    Now i do see 2 zero's before the time. (I.E: "00 20:12" in stead of " 20:12")
The zero's are shown when i'm just in windows and still botting, when i'm not in windows yet i see some numbers changing every sec (or even faster) like C3 or D2 etc.

    (slaps myself on the head)

The Audio DJ is its own entity... NOTHING to do with Windows. It is like a basic CD/MP3 Player.
    - the time displayed when using it is the info on the current track that is playing

When the notebook is on, the Audio DJ display just acts as a clock. THATS IT.

So does it play musics fine or not?!? (w/ the Audio DJ by itself.. notebook off)

    I fixed the problem i think!!!!!!!! :D

i red the notebook guide i got when i bought the notebook and i've red how to upgrade the optical drive. It's very easy to get the optical drive out the notebook, and it seems it wasn't good enough in the notebook because i've pushed the buttons below the notebook trying to figure out wat it is for

edit: today i've tried the dvd of dirt again and it doesnt work :( so problem isn't solved, but i dont see the 2 zero's in the audio dj display anymore so that seems good again.

When i play music with the audio dj itself the music plays fine, in windows it plays fine too, only the damn dvd of dirt and a few other dvd's still doesnt work.

    thats cool.

The most common DVD-RW found in these Clevo's is the Pioneer DVR-K17

you can find these almost anywhere. (Newegg)
