So i was kinda hoping I could upgrade my T7700 to the T9300 or T9500 I asked sager and got this response
Hi XXXXX, NP5792 supports Intel Penryn T9300 and T9500 CPU. The cost of a T9300 CPU is $349 and the cost of a T9500 CPU is $571. Sager does not take the T7700 CPU back as trade-in.
No trade in!! Whaaa! + those procs are expensive![]()
Does Xiopic or another re-seller still do trade ins?

a x9000 cost $500 on ebay
-
I wouldnt really know how to install anything tho
-
under 300$ for the t9300's usually on ebay also..piece of cake. seriously i could talk you through it.. imo a x9000 is not at all worth it but to each his own. i would not get one again. and you can sell your t7500..
-
1.) open up the bottom
2.) remove heat sink, clean up the thermal paste
3.) remove CPU, only one screw
4.) put in the new CPU
5.) re-apply thermal paste on both CPU and heat sink
6.) secure the bottom chassis -
Anyone wanna buy my T7700
Anyone can provide links to a reliable source to buy a T9500 (2.6ghz) for a good price? -
for a good price.. ebay.. otherwise you will spend 300-320 from anywhere else. i have seen them end on ebay for less than 300 many times
-
-
-
Why not the T9300???? Much cheaper. The .1ghz upgrade aint woth the extra bucks imo. Heck, you probably wont see that much of a diff from you T7700
-
AS5 is not actually conductive, quote from their website:
-
yes but he should still not get is on anything as it states.. that is what i meant...i have seen mobo's not start because of as5 on some of the solder points we cleaned it up and it worked fine.. so i know first hand it can and at times but not all the time cause problems..

I doubt you're going to see any difference going to a T7700 . . . the T9300 is definitely not worth the extra money. Why are you looking to upgrade if I may ask?
-
I hear its lower heat on the 45nm thought that may be worth it for ocing... i'd be more interested in the T9500 than T9300...
+ i feel like my stress scores are low, my 5792 gets stock 8830-8900 on 3dmark... i know its just a benchie and doesnt really mean anything but i hear all these peeps talking about 9k+ stock and i get angry. -
have to agree with everyone.. there will be basically no difference minus benchmarks really with a t9500.. honestly..
-
my opinion is that once you got the t9300, overclock it to 3.0 or 3.1ghz and it will have no different with x9000
-
-
oh just a quick note, my BF2142 did increase from 75fps to 93fps
-
With GPU overclock im sure, not CPU?

Why do you want to upgrade?
I wouldn't spend $300 for a ~4% upgrade in my processor. The 2 mb cache isn't going to do squat for you either. Cache is definitely an example of diminishing returns, and presently, 4MB is already getting into that area.
Heat and power consumption is better, but again, not worth $300.00.
You would be crazy to do this IMO. -
honestly no reason 2... stick with what u have and save up for a resale of your laptop in a year or 2 when u require a quadcore to play current games.
no reason now. and if there is its then its not big enough to be worth it. -
ok guys thanks wont upgrade then.
-
Yes, the T8x and 9x series run much cooler than the T7 series, but the updated heatsink in the 5793 also helps that difference to an extent...
I`d stick to the T7700 for now and wait for something that WOULD really make a difference. -
5793 got new heatsink? hmm...i never knew that
-
yes it got a new cpu heatsink
-
-
can i get a new heatsink for my 5792 that will lower my temps alot?
-
The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
A cooler might help if you don't have one.
-
i have a cooler.
-
No overclocking even.
-
-
Although the upgrade might cost you 150$, and at the moment,it`s best to wait to see if you`ll be able to upgrade to the Montevina version of the 579x, the TU platform. -
Stop worrying about 3dmark scores and go play COD4.
Sheesh.
Oh Bob Saget! grrr.
