    Sorry...I'm real ignorant when it comes to computers..

    For notebook coolers, the whole extra fans thing... do you have to install them internally, attach them someway, or just place the cooler under the notebook?

    Also, I've been reading little implications that you can dictate what speed your laptop goes. I guess like, if you're computer has 3.6 gHz processor, you can make it go only like 1 gig if you want.. Is this true, and how/why would you do that?

    Your laptop sits on the cooler. It blows some extra air around the laptop. Not normally needed, but it does help some laptops.

    You can adjust your processor speed (usually - depends on the laptop). You might do this primarily to extend your battery life. A slower processor speed can also reduce heat.
