... and it tells me it's working. However, my only bluetooth device is my Motorola Razr phone, and after installing the software you can get from Moto, I can't get the software to find the phone.

I can use the USB cable with the software, so the software works.
I can use my BT earpiece with the phone, so the phone's BT works.

Any suggestions? I'm on the verge of buying some other BT device just to prove whether the module I installed is working or not.

What service do you have with your phone? If it is Verizon, they cripple the bluetooth so it only works with headsets, you won't be able to use it with the laptop.

My BT died on my 5720. :( It was my fault, tho. I put too much tension on the wire and it snapped. No big deal. I never used BT on my notebook. If I have a need, I'll just get a USB adapter.

Sorry it took me so long to reply to my own question.

I've got Cingular, so I should, in theory, be able to detect my phone. (I specifically dropped Verizon after being wth them since the Bell Atlantic Mobile days because of their BT gimping)

I guess I should pop my lappy open again to make sure it's not broken physically. After that, I guess I'm going to have to buy a device just to test the ****ed chip.

Have you tried connecting it to any other Bluetooth devices? I'd see if a friend of yours has a PDA or something, maybe a Bluetooth mouse too.

Also, just to make sure the phone isn't a problem, see if you can find another bluetooth laptop to connect it to.
