Damn I would practice my expletives with powernotebooks.com
-
Yeah if you've been waiting a long time to get your notebook and then get that, I would be incredibly angry.
-
I also ordered the "PowerPro J 10:15 SUPRA" about 10 days ago and is in the shipping stage, do you think it will look like the pictures posted in this thread or like the ones on powernotebook.com? Also, I noticed that powernotebook.com does not offer the WXGA Glossy in their "PowerPro J 10:15 SUPRA" configuration, but rather has the WSXGA+ in their config, did I make a mistake on my part ordering it with the WXGA? Am I reading into them changing the configuration more than I should?

So here's an update. Powernotebooks.com shipped a few from their CA warehouse and didn't get to look at them. They were the wrong models, like mine. Donald told me that the whole thing would be straightened out and that when I get mine back, it will be what it should be THe IFL90/SagerNP2090 body.
As it is I'm kind of waiting on UPS right now, but my situation is be taken care of extremely well. Powernotebooks is living up to there customer care, and that's good.
Edit: If you want more detailed information if you ordered one or something, you should contact them yourself. Don't just take my understanding of what I am being told as fact. -
Yeah, I talked to Donald about how the shipping of IFL-90s went a while back and he said that they ship it to Nevada first so people could avoid sales taxes (those of us who live in California, which is the best choice
) and would simply move it from the truck to another truck to be shipped out nationwide. I could see how they could have let an FL-90 slip through. Sucks for the inconvenience, Scavar, but crap happens sometimes and at least you got the situation resolved. Imagine if you had an HP or a Dell.

eep i didnt order mine yet and i need it before september

Hmmm, I talked to powernotebooks.com and was told the Powerpro J (IFL-90) with WXGA was not being sold any more due to shipping problems and obviously problems with Compal. (i'm assuming this is true for all other resellers) SO...does this mean all the people who previously ordered the WXGA Compal IFL-90 may actually end up getting the FL-90?
-
Holly cow!
Compal seems to be treating its resellers in a rather cavalier way! From what I understood earlier, people who ordered through Sager will get the real deal no matter what. I'll be curious to see what people who ordered the WXGA through Sager will get.
-
Sager still seems to be offering the WXGA screen, whatever that info is worth....
-
I am really confused now with this situation regarding FL90 with wxga screens. All people who ordered Sagers should receive IFL90, and who ordered prebuilt Compal from Powernotebooks and XoticPC will get FL90? How Sager will get the IFL90 with WXGA and the rest of the resellers can not get them. Right now I am not even sure if Compal makes IFL90 with WXGA, since everybody complaining about waiting for WSXGA, I do not see a lot of people with Sagers WXGA.
-
I assume powernotebooks took the wgxa off because of deals like mine. I know I'm not the only person who ordered through them who got that mix up, and they are doing what they can to stop that from happening. I'm not entirely sure if I will end up with a WXGA screen now, either way I know I won't be seeing another FL-90, of that I have been assured, so I assume no one else will after the people have already recieved that shipping problem, and are probably calling and going WTF, and returning.
It's entirely likely some people don't care and just keeping them, who knows. -
1. Sager has an exclusivity deal with Compal to sell the WXGA IFL90. All other resellers get the WXGA FL90 but nobody was informed of that fact.
2. Compal seriously screwed up when they informed their US-based resellers. They gave the wrong part number or whatever. The WXGA IFL90 is available for everyone but everybody unwittingly ordered the FL90 because of Compal's misinformation. Except that somehow Sager got wind of the error and ordered the right machine so all Sager orders will be fulfilled as advertised but all WXGA IFL90 orders done through other outlets have been fulfilled with FL90 units. (This theory is based on the fact that Justin said the Sager orders are unaffected and on the fact that we now know both XoticPC and PowerNotebooks are affected by the screw up.) The reason the WXGA IFL90 is no longer offered by the resellers (except Sager) is that they are trying to sort out the situation before offering it again.
Criticize away but keep in mind that these are wild guesses. Don't lose sleep over this. -
This is Justin's quote "Unfortunately there was incorrect information provided to us on the non channel WXGA (1280x800) IFL90 or "FL90" we received in"
Exactly what does he mean by "non channel"? -
Hong Kong bootleggers?
Thats typically non-channel, in my business.
But hey... even if it is sub-par hardware, the warranty is the warranty.
On the phone with Powernotebooks :(
