AnandTech | Best Gaming Notebooks, April 2013
He lists a lot of notebooks that are not gaming notebooks. And the one he lists is a MSI whitebook rebrand. And he says the Clevo are bigger! Which is totally false, the dimensions of Clevo P150Em and P170EM are smaller than their MSI counterparts! Ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. His hate for Clevo is unfounded and really gives AnandTech a bad reputation among those who actually game on their laptop I think. And he also rips into Alienware too. Truly an Apple hooligan, cause you know that's what he games on, even if he wants to deny it :/
And I quote:
What I bolded. You're amazed too right? Lose respect for AnandTech every time Jarred spews more vitriol about Clevo, MSI, Asus, and Alienware. Because Clevo are plastic, must mean they are not durable, this clearly from someone who has never owned a Clevo for more than the time period he reviewed them. And then he chooses the CyberPower as his choice for high end gaming when MSI are huge chunks of plastic that are brittle? What a butthole.
My P150EM vs Jarred's head? Yeah I'll bet my P150EM will win, and Jarred's head in the hospital. And while at the hospital, he needs hand transplants, as his Apple delicate hands are incapable of typing on Clevo keyboards, which is beyond me since the P150EM keyboard can type as fast as any Apple keyboard and it's quieter to boot. Seriously, he needs new hands, there is something very wrong with them.
I really wish AnandTech would fire him and stop having him spew his own personal preference for shiny crap when reviewing gaming notebooks.
- Hey AnandTech, here's a hint. Hire someone who actually games and owns gaming laptops from Alienware and Clevo and can distinguish the difference between build quality and just blindly loving anything that uses Aluminum/Magnesium frames.
- Another hint AnandTech, hire someone who doesn't abuse his laptops. If Clevo, MSI and Alienware notebooks are not standing up to Jarred's standards for durability, there is something wrong with your employee and his fetish for breaking and abusing laptops.

Hello Zymphad,
I understand your rage about this Jared - he has no life
He should grow up and learn about the real world - probably he is some kid sitting behind his desk typing on his shiny (and crappy) macbook air 2013, which makes him feel powerful
However, that flimsy blob of metal should not be able to compete against Clevos since Clevos are filled with better specs; however, it depends on who is using the laptop, not the laptop's powers itself
I hope he will get owned soon since DDR4 is coming out soon - I bet his shiny has no idea how powerful this will destroy him, since computing technologies will outrun whatever he is using to type his stupid junk all over the forums
By the way, while I am waiting for DDR4 (and probably the next generation if processors), do you have any suggestions for a cheap ~300 USD laptop while I wait for the storm to die out? -
This is likely not the best forum to ask about $300 laptops though. If you do find a Clevo/Sager for only $300, due tell, I'd be interested in buying it.
There is a Dell Latitude with an i5. Seems nice specs for $391.

Ahh, I see
Clevo does not make cheap laptops.. they make laptops >600 USD range (somewhat like that, unless if its a 2nd hand)
I know that the Dell Vostros are sometimes sold cheaply, so I'll wait until bargain time
Do you know where I can get an i7 cpu, AMD 7970, or Nvidia 680M SLi?
I tried looking through Intel, but the i7's are limited, and the AMD 7970 I cannot find damn lol
Found a couple of Alienwares and MSI with 680M SLi, my bad
I hate that these companies can find the sources since I want to build a Clevo barebones next year since DDR4 got pushed back a year
Stupid companies wanting to make DDR3 so expensive and no DDR4 as a doorway to heaven -

I don't think he meant that the competing Clevo and Alienware offerings are larger than the MSI whitebook. That would be ridiculous. Hence, "large" instead of "larger," but the word doesn't fit there anyway.
Also, he makes it clear that he chose the Fangbook because only Clevo offers similar laptops for that price. -
- He could have used, more extensive, plentiful, wide selection, etc (get a thesaurus if have to). When I compare two OEMs and and say the other's offerings are large, I generally will think, it's LARGE. This is English, not George Bush rhetoric.
And poor him, he had to choose some notebook, so just chose a Fang notebook, but he just HAD to mention CyberPower, he wasn't paid to do that. Poor Jarred, he had to recommend at least some of the large, plastic, laptops that don't test the time.
But I digress, I see I'm one of the few who finds this blogger to be among the most annoying tech bloggers around. Off top of my head, can't think of one more annoying.
This article and his comments is just another example of how Jarred thinks his opinions and preferences are more important than just providing a simple review of laptops that would be helpful to the reader. Instead he takes over and it becomes his own personal blog about laptops.

When I saw Jarred I thought you meant that Subway guy...
Once again Jarred Walton proves he doesn't know what he's talking about.
