One more week for PCMicro :/

Just got off the phone with PCMicroworks and they say that they are planning on shipping the xr5 orders basically on friday so we could expect them next monday. Just thought I would tell everyone.

Everyone else get the same response if they have called them?

 

Well, I ordered the Horizon from them and they told me that they will be shipping monday(today), but they got it to me by Friday morning...

 

Yep same here.. They will ship end of the week..

 

Good for you guys! In addition to what will most assuredly be out-of-the-world performance, I would appreciate your observations on the carbon fiber.

 

Well... I guess it is still the week of the 7th, which is what I was told a couple weeks ago.

 

Just wish it was a bit sooner. I got school starting next monday and I got some prep work to do to the beast before that happens. Looks like it will all be last minute on Monday (assuming it arrives then). Either way I am just excited that it is actually going to show up soon.

 

Me too. I am going crazy, but I hope it arrives in one piece more importantly!

Can't wait to get it. I guess the wait might be because of the carbon fibre lcd.

 

Argh! I can't decide if I'm going to wait or not. If I get the laptop shipped to me with only one 8800 I'll have to pay 300$ extra to get the second card. (Long story, has nothing to do with PCMW)

Now they're saying end of february for SLI. I really hope they don't extend that more. Be sure to post tons of pictures when you guys get yours. Carbon fiber, benchmarks etc.. It will help me feel alot better

 

Ok... just got an email from PCMW... looks like the XR5 will ship early NEXT week due to a customs delay:

Dont worry, they have excellent service, and I promise you that once you get ur laptop u will be happy, sometimes these things happen...

I got this one yesterday too. Looks like your guy was explaining why they were having delays. But from the email i received, it doesn't imply they were still waiting on parts? The wait just sucks... I wish I could induce myself into a coma for a week. That might help.

 

I agree 100%. When i did one of those 'Free Apple Notebook!' websites to get my MacBook Pro, it took them 2 weeks for ground shipping to get to me. But that all washes away once the product arrives. I hope I don't have similar delay problems when i place my order at XoticPC.

Just got off the phone with PCMW, said by next week this time, should have system in hand ...

 

I ordered mine from discountlaptops, and I got an email today saying that they expected my machine to ship in about a week. Further informed me I was going to be receiving the new revision motherboard and heatsink that Sager released today.

The waiting is painful!
