Exactly one year ago on this date (October 13th, 2005), I received my Sager NP5320 from PowerNotebooks.com. And now I would like to take a bit of time and reflect on my ownership experience. So if you'll just grab a chair . . .

    Physical Appearance:
Since day one, I've always liked the styling of this notebook. Even one year later, I still like it and have not gotten tired of it. I have yet to see any other notebook offer the diversity of ports this one has, or an LCD display on the front which gives it a unique look.
With regards to durability, I don't move the notebook much, but I use it every day and it shows virtually no signs of wear. I should note that I type properly and do not have my palms resting on the 'palmrests', so there is no wear there. The keyboard keys are a shiny as notebook keys always get, but the letters are intact. I don't feel as if I wore the keyboard out. It has held up and I am impressed.
I never use the touchpad so that is not worn.
The corners of the chassis and lid look like the day I got them. I do not rub this notebook against a lot of stuff and am very careful with it so that could explain a lot. The aluminum lid shows no scratches, it is pretty tough (but also makes the notebook heavy).

    Stability:
My 5320 has handled my gaming tasks pretty well, and it has a reasonable temperature on a cooling pad. Without the cooling pad, it gets too warm for my tastes and I don't game if I do not have a pad. The front of the chassis is really thin and that is where the hard drive rests so it stays hot without a pad. If I could change the design, I would make the front of the notebook thicker for better cooling/heat dissapation.

    Performance:
This machine is a good performer, and with my current setup it can pull 3,304 marks in PCMark05. I was happy with the performance when I got the machine, and I am still happy now; it does everything I ask of it.

    Problems:
I had no problems that required sending the notebook in or contacting technical support. My warranty ends today so hopefully that trend will continue.

    Overall:
On the whole I have had a wonderful experience with my Sager, and the fact that I like it just as much today as I did one year ago when I took delivery says something. If Sager comes out with another 15.4" I will definitely be interested in picking it up.

    The end.

That's awesome. Great to hear your system's been so good to you.

I really like the NP5320 you've got. I would have loved to have had a 15.4" Sager option to choose from this year. Donald did mention that Sager should be offering 15.4" gaming notebooks again starting next year, so that's good news.

Glad to hear that, Chaz. :) Your post confirms most of the view expressed in your review from a year ago. That's one good machine indeed.
