So I was looking over at GenTechPC, and their upgrades for the optical bay include the standard "replace disk drive with a hard drive caddy," but they specifically say it's 12.7mm height. Is this standard across all Clevo/Sager resellers? Most don't specify, but if the standard height for caddies in the optical drive bay is really 12.7mm and not 9mm, that opens up some more options as far as secondary hard drives in the P150EM.

In short: can anyone confirm or comment on the height of optical drive caddies from other resellers?

I would love to know as well. Figured I would make this upgrade when I found I needed it.

Anybody have pics of laptops with their optical drive replaced with a caddy? The caddies are universal, so they're never flush with the laptop, like the optical drives are, right?

You can take the front off the optical, and put it on the caddy so it is flush.

Our HDD caddy is also 12.7mm high, that is per the packaging. These do fit in the Sager laptops. I will not say if a taller drive will fit though, we only have 9mm drives installed in these.
