Since the thread errors are still up, I'll post as a reply:

    Hello guys,

I found a very weird issue about Optimus. If you leave programs like MSI afterburner or HWINFO64 (dGPU has to be running to be shown on the HWINFO64 Monitor, if HWINFO64 didn't capture your dGPU, you won't be seeing this issue) monitoring the dGPU, the dedicated GPU won't shutoff when idling. In my case I have a GTX 675M, I noticed this because the GPU fan keeps spinning overnight. After I close the MSI Afterburner the GPU Fan stopped spinning like 30 sec after, didn't spin again until I launched a game 4 hours later. Are you guys seeing similar issue?

    Regards,

    Hackness.

Confirmed. GPU-Z, HWINFO64 and MSI Afterburner will make the laptop think you are still using the dGPU even at battery saving mode. You might want to turn any GPU monitoring programs off if you are using Battery mode, so the dGPU is allowed to be turned off.
