Do you guys know if my unit can output audio over HDMI when using my dGPU.

It seems to work on the HD4000, but as soon as my game starts it switches to the dGPU, I no longer have the option in the sound menu to select my monitor and it just starts kicking sound out of the integrated speakers again - pretty annoying when my TV is set to output to my 5.1 receiver via optical out?

Is this normal, is it a glitch or does the GT650m just not have the capability to output audio over HDMI ??
    .

..wasn't that part of the first firmware update for the mobile kepler nvidia cards? A new "audio device" of some sort should turn up when you plug in an hdmi device.

Yeah, You shouldn't have a problem with this. Try checking the newest driver version out and do a clean install of it.

No, don't touch the NVidia firmware. ;) BIOS is specific to the system board. Updating that will not do anything to the NVidia card firmware.

On this model the GT650M vBIOS is indeed part of the system BIOS and it was updated in Clevos stock version 11 BIOS.
They also updated the iGPU (HDx000) vBIOS a few times down the road and since the dGPU is routed through the iGPU it may very well have an effect, too.

You can find the latest stock W11 BIOS & EC (11/09) on the blog in my sig. ;)

Well I'm now on Prema's 2.1 bios, and I also did the "Intel Management Engine Firmware & Driver"

so from the USB I ran FlashMe.bat (I presume this installed what's referred to as "EC 09") and update.bat (for bios 11?)

Still when I'm in World of Tanks, it doesn't output over HDMI (I use win key to bring me back to desktop, click the windows audio icon and select "SyncMaster (Intel (R) Display Audio)" but it still output over the system speakers in game...... really annoying as my TV is linked via optical to my amp and sub, I just want to plug in via HDMI and send audio and video...

The game will likely run your default audio device. Change it tothe hdmi audio.

    FIXED! - in a fashion....

I reinstalled the latest Nvidia driver (clean install, but this didn't fix anything) tried to update the sound devices and they wouldn't so.....
I went in to device manager and uninstalled (including deleting the driver data) the 2 audio devices (one VIA from the official Clevo downloads?) and the Intel (R) audio thing.... rebooted, it detected and installed 2 generic high def. audio devices, and this seems to work over HDMI now..... hopefully everything else will work to despite me not running the "official" drivers....

...... if you don't here back assume it all works

Thanks for getting onboard guys, much appreciated.

It probably just set your hdmi to default by doing that.

They're still official, albeit outdated, most likely, since they're just pulled from Windows driver database. Glad it's working for you now. :)
