Hi, I'm trying to get info for upgrading my laptop's component. My question is that can my Sager 5797 take GTX 480m? If it can't I will have to buy a new rig and I could start saving from now. And I really love to know how can u judge the compatibility between these GPUs and the laptop, because it is the same port and it is same MXM 3.0 so what is the problem that make my laptop incompatible with GTX 480m.

    Thank you for your answer

Sager NP5797 use MXM 2.1 III and won`t be compatible with GTX 480M, which is MXM 3.0b.

You can upgrade to GTX 280M, top.

There would also be numerous other reasons for your laptop not being able to upgrade to GTX 480M.
