I am looking to get a DTR level laptop for gaming. I think a Sager 9262 is going to fit my needs the best of the laptops I have looked at. So I am now looking for information on the options to get.

Hard Drives. It's down to the 320GB ATA II {5400rpm} or the 200GB ATA II {7200rpm}. Is the 7200 rpm drive going to give any real significant performance increase over a 5400? And does the cache sizes between the two make any difference for gaming?

CPU. The E8400 has a FSB of 1333 vs the Q6700 is running at a slower clock speed and a FSB of 1066. Which would be better for gaming?

    Thank You

the hard drives are mainly for storage and load times.

I debated about that issue as well. To me, more storage is more important than a few extra seconds faster for load times.

other than that, there is no actually performance differences during games or programs during usage.

As for CPU, the quad-core would be the better bet since all fo the new games and programs coming out are multi-threaded.

Go with the Q6600 for bang for the buck, the Q6700 is not worth the extra cash for the slight performance difference... unless if you have the budget.

Ther's also data density,so higher capacity indirectly leads to faster speeds.

the 320 giggers are as fast as the 200 ones and are quieter.

i had the 200 giggers in raid 0 on my alienware laptop and my d900c's raid 0 is just as fast and obviously has much more storage.
