true... turbo memory is pretty useless

You can ask to not include that and use that money to get a nice notebook cooler, like Zalman ZM-NC1000 or NC2000

Justin would love that if it were true...but I do agree that Justin's customers tend to post more often while PowerNotebooks.com customers remain the silent majority :)

It's actually really surprising...and awesome to see that 2 people who are selling within the same narrow niche can coexist so peacefully on the forums =O. It's always good to see that competition nowadays doesn't always mean badmouthing the other person at every possible opportunity :)

I had a budget of 1500 USD and purposely purchased right before the refresh to get the biggest deal.

Meh, no reason to try to instill buyers remorse anyway with the new model. I just bought a 2092 for my bro. It is an amazing lappy, and i hope you are as satisfied with it as i am with my bros. Its great to tinker on and works like a champ.

I'd like that info too, from my own reading I hear it will run most games on high and things like Crysis on medium (though I'm not sure how many fps constitute "playable")

    *edit*
of course, if anyone asks, I need the 8600 for solidworks rendering *cough*

test drive unlimited is only fun with wheel, luckily I got the G25. for graphic, you guys should check out Grid. looks like Codemasters had improved their engine, Grid actually ran bettery than Dirt on my rig, I was able to get 40fps average with max settings, of course, talking about my 8800m here. :D :p

8800m...I wish I could justify spending the money on an 860tu. Ill definitely check grid out. The g25 looks awesome but I doubt any school work would ever get done if I bought one of those ;/

What's the difference? Is it worth the wait? Thanks.

Refresh is coming next week with the new montevina platform (ddr3 support and some other things like wimax) which makes now a great time to grab the 2092 while its in clearance pricing.

The worst case scenario is you send it back in the 30 days and get the refresh if it is similarly priced with better hardware

    Just curious ...

since everyone knows or heard of "NVIDIA 8600 series" Graphic Card problems with the "Heat Cycle" and falling apart in a year time (according to couple of posts) ... why would anyone still be interested in Sager 2092 series or any other laptop that uses 8600 card?

    G!

gonwk, you are blowing this way, way, way out of proportion.

There are hundreds of thousands of these in users hands, so just because you have read a couple of people complaining about failures does not elevate it that level of a problem.

We have sold thousands of them ourselves and their failure rate is no higher than normal, which is very, very low. Now, the final analysis cannot be given for another couple of years, but from what we have seen so far it is not worthy of this much concern.

    Hi folks,

Does anyone know if the "Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound" gets applied to both the CPU and Graphic Card by Sager or just the CPU?

    Thanks,
    G!

@Peter - Ahh, sounded from the way you worded it that you had some unreleased info or something :)

@ddayz - I don't own a camera but depending on when the laptop arrives I may be able to borrow one. If time permits I will take a few photos and post them.
