Get ESET (eset.com) virus protection. It has worked just as well as McAfee or Norton ever did for me, and it's very lightweight. McAfee and Norton both take over your entire machine and treat you like a child - they wont let you turn them off! ESET is great virus protection for people who arent idiots, which is everyone on this forum I'd gather.

I also like recommending AVG or avast! ... which are free and do their jobs.

and for a good free firewall:
    - Comodo Firewall

free anti virus software that catches 98-99 percent of the viruses and the other 1 percent it tells you about vs paid software that works 70 percent of the time. and when it crashes..you have to call someone like me to fix it. *LOL* ill pass on "mc or nort" (aka mcafee and norton)

good call on the comodo gophn

Grats on your purchase, I hope she serves you well for many years. I second AVG and Avast. Both are great anti-virus programs. I use Avast myself and have never had any problems.

I read some articles, ill look them up, that Raid 0 does not really offer a good performance increase and in some instance it had a decreased performance like in Unreal tournament.......Ill research it further...

i am thinking of replacing the Tvtuner with the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 SB1090 5.1 Channels 24-bit External USB Sound Card since the 7.1 express card is not available, anyone has experience with this one... I love music and would definitely get it if it makes some difference....

i try boot on my raid partition, so you shouldn't have too muc troble dual booting xp/vista. just take a look at some of the guides posted around here and you should do fine.

quite a few people swear by it alfonz. i have never used it yet.

i did how ever just picked up one of these. actually i picked it up just for the tos plug (optical out for optical enabled laptops through the headphone jack). *LOL* haven't tried it out yet.
