    Hey all,

After tonnes of reading I finally ordered a Malibal Lotus and registered for the board(long overdue).. I placed my order on December 28th so it should ship relatively soon..

I'm taking a new job that involves a lot of traveling so I needed a mobile powerhouse.. I went with the upgraded matte display, 2670QM i7, 12gb of 1333ddr3, the 500gb seagate hybrid drive, the 6990m and a bluray burner.

I'm super pumped! I got next day international shipping too!

I'll post a short review when I get it, but for now I just wanted to say the customer service at Malibal has been fantastic. Every question I asked was answered within 30 min and I can't wait until my laptop arrives!

    Varun.

After owning my Malibal for 4 months I'm completely happy with my purchase.
It runs like a champ playing BF3 on high settings.
Thanks for the great product Malibal!

    Hey Guys!

Got my machine on Monday.. It's pretty awesome except I think i may have an issue... Sometimes it will just shutdown randomly... The fan on the left side is very active.. CPU I believe... I downloaded HWmonitor and the CPU temps at idle are around 65-75 depending on the core.. Thats far to high right?..

Let me know what you guys are experiencing..

If that's under load, no- those temps are relatively decent. Only if you saw temps ~20 degrees higher would it be a problem. Are you getting bluescreens, or is it just an instant shutdown?

I just contacted support.. I told them about the problem. They got me to open the laptop up and check the heatsinks.. The CPU heatsink wasn't attached at all.. it may have came out during shipping vibrations.. Either way i spread out the thermal paste and reseated the heat sink.. Temps are down to about 40-50 on idle. IS that more average?

yeah, that seems right to me. My GPU and CPU usually hover somewhere around 45 degrees idle. Idle temp will vary a few degrees depending on ambient temperature, though.

Just curious. Why the matte finish? And what graphics card are you using? I'm close to buying, and have lots of decisions to make. Thanks.

I really hate glare.. Can't stand it.. and after seeing the 95% screen.. i have no regrets.. some people say the colours are better on the other display but this screen is awesome.. I just need to work out my driver problem! i'm using the 6990m and getting numbers around 2500 WAY too low..
