So I ordered the following laptop from XOTIC PC, my first SAGER!

It says in the order in brackets that it is also a Clevo P770DM, this is confusing.

I haven't seen any reviews about it in the web I hope it's good.

    These are the specs

    Intel Skylake i7-6700K (4.0GHz - 4.2GHz, 8MB Intel Smart Cache) | 64GB 2133MHz DDR4 RAM | nVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M (8.0GB) GDDR5 | Sound Blaster 3D Audio | 2x 512GB Samsung SM951 M.2 PCIe SSD + 2x 2TB 5400 RPM HDD (RAID 0) | Intel Dual Band AC 8260 WLAN + Bluetooth | 17.3” FHD 16:9 LED Backlit Wide Screen (1920x1080) Super Clear Matte Type Sager IPS Screen (SKU - SSC879) | Logitech G602 Wireless Gaming Mouse | Windows 10 Pro

the 770DM is the ODM designation for the setup. basically, sager/clevo are the same. sager is the retail side while clevo is the manufacturer. hope that made sense :D

Thanks bro, really excited about this, never had a Sager before but I love the idea of this desktop CPU in a lappy.

    What's the 750DM?

And why are there 0 reviews about this laptop yet?

Congrats on getting the new system. If you have any questions on your order, please let me know what I can help with.

The 750dm is the 15 inch model. That is going to be the NP9758.

Both of these are newer models, that are replacing the NP9752 or NP9753 (P750ZM Clevo name), and NP9772 or NP9773 (P770ZM Clevo). So you might not see reviews of the NP9778 out there, but if you search for the previous models, then you should be able to find some reviews there. They are basically the same chassis overall, just updated with the 6th gen processor instead of 4th, and DDR4 ram, instead of DDR3 on the previous versions. Hope that helps you find some reviews. Overall they are pretty well received models.

Thanks a lot. I put in the notes that I need a UK power plug as here in Dubai they use the UK power plug. I hope XOTIC PC can provide me with that plug for the power adapter, do you think they could do that?

Those are offered, but it would be an additional item added on to your order. So you would end up purchasing the UK one, in addition to the US cord that comes with it by default. Email me or PM me if you want more info on adding to an order.

I emailed you my order with a few notes, please take care of it.

Skylake E, will be a different socket. Likely, Kaby Lake (if that's next, Gen. 7) will work.

Does anyone have any details on the screen that I ordered? what's the refresh rate? Is it a GSYNC screen?

17.3” FHD 16:9 LED Backlit Wide Screen (1920x1080) Super Clear Matte Type Sager IPS Screen (SKU - SSC879)

It should be this LG Display LP173WF4-SPD1 and yes, the G-Sync screen.

I have this panel in my P770ZM. The refresh rate in Nvidia Control Panel says 75Hz. For G-Sync the 17.3" must be 75Hz. 2015-10-18_085503.png

The refresh rate depends... Some of the new models are 60Hz for some reason.. NVIDIA is being deliberately vague about the refresh rates..

So far, I believe it's only some of the 15.6" screens that are 60Hz. I think, this is the only 17.3" that is G-Sync certified.... but that will change too.

The g-sync screens are kind of weird, there was a big discussion going on with them in the P650RE/RG owners forum on here. Basically they likely "overclock" them slightly to get up to the 75Hz on a 60Hz panel to become "G-Sync Certified"

Same thing with other manufacturers, or is this just a Clevo/Sager thing?

JohnWhoTwo, It's the same with others as well, I believe.

Matrix Leader, thanks for sending me the email. I saw it come through, but I haven't really touched my inbox over the weekend. Let me know if you have other questions as well.

Unfortunately, we had to cancel the order as I initially paid through PayPal but later learned that XOTIC PC cannot accept PayPal for international orders only Wire Transfer but I don't have that kind of money on me as in cash to do a wire transfer so I had to cancel the order and place it through another supplier.

Thanks a lot to @pat@XOTICPC and @Alex@XOTICPC who were extremely helpful throughout this sales process and tried their best to find a way around this but it didn't work out.

If you want a gsync screen/laptop you need to order the DM-G model, otherwise the simple DM model is not gsync fitted.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

It's all good then. I thought a saw your signature with just P770DM, no G.
HIDEvolution is ok. I ordered once from them and everything went smoothly (bought an asus g73sw couple years ago, paid by paypal, and they shipped to europe/romania).
