Last friday I called up flawless computers to place an order for the Clevo M570U because their website was having technical issues and the pricing for their notebooks was not right.

I told him I wanted the M570U, and he said he had a few already configured by other customers but they were not going to buy them(or something like that...i didnt quite get what he said). He told me the specs and it was exactly what I wanted.

I asked about pricematching and he said they do it. He told me that he was offering free ground shipping but if I wanted it by xmas I would have to get 50 dollar next day air.

He also gave me a promo code for 200 or 300 hundred off?? I cant remember what it was, but basically the whole system spec'd out exactly the way I wanted it would have cost me $2550.00 dollars with the promo code and free ground shipping. Thats the cheapest price I found on the web. Because the 5 minute phone call went so smoothly, and and becasue of everything Ive read about flawless, the reseller ratings, and bbb ratings, and the incredible price, I decided to just stick with flawless computers. I figured even if someone else could pricematch, it doesn't matter to me because of the smooth phone convo and everything else that I stated above.

After adding the 50 dollar next day shipping, I decided that I would go ahead and get the zero dead pixel policy. I know that means I am basically paying 200 bucks for the manufacturer to turn on the computer and look for dead pixels before they ship it out to me along with a 30 day garauntee. He told me this and said he thought it wasnt nesseccary. After I told him hoe extensively I will be using it. He agreed that it might be good to get it for the peace of mind.

I got it because I will be using the computer ALL the time for gaming, school(online classes), 3ds Max, photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver, flash, painter, etc, and just generally geeking out. I also decided it was worth it because of the discount and savings I was already getting from flawless. I figured I wouldn't be able to deal with even less than 5 dead or partially lit pixels on my screen since I will be staring at it so often. So I dropped the $200 dollars for peace of mind.

The whole system everything done and said came to exactly $2800.00.
That includes a three year parts and labor/ 24/7 tech support warranty. I can also let my friend(he owns and runs a local computer business and does all his own tech work) fix it and he can bill flawless for the work under warranty.

Flawless is calling it the Ambition 730x, but I think it comes straight from clevo and is the standard finish casing with no stickers or logos(which I like).

    Pretty sweet eh?

Does anyone know what make of HD usually comes with these models? I suspect it is either hitachi or seagate because at the flawless website they state that they only use high end quality products and that they really mean it. lol

I will try and get some pics up and a review once I get this sexy beast.

That's a beautiful machine and I am glad to hear everything went smoothly. Congratulations. :)

The only manufacturers who produce 7200RPM 2.5" drives are Hitachi or Seagate. Both drives are equally good.

Yeah, I'd be curious who else had a lower price than them. Unless you mean before the discount (it was $250 off when I ordered mine on the 4th)... Anyway, I was very pleased with the options that they offered and extremely pleased at the price. Unfortunately it seems that they are in a crunch because of holiday orders, so mine went from an estimated ship date of the 14th to the 20th, but I suppose that's not incomprehensible. All I know is that it'll be a **** nice present to myself whenever it finally arrives. :)

Does anyone know who they use for their warranty? They offer a 3 year warranty for a good price (free), if it's Philips Magnavox/MicroMedics I would not recommend buying from them no matter the price.

If I did not buy the $200 pixel warranty or the $50 next day air shipping, My total would have been $2550.00 w/free ground shipping, promo code, and 3 year flawless warranty.

Is there anyone who can deliver it for less then $2550.00 shipped with the specs I listed at the beginning of the thread?

I dont know...I'll ask about it. Maybe they do their own warranty work?
I know that I can use my buddy who owns his own computer company as the technician to do any warranty work that can be done before sending it back to clevo for replacement parts(instead of sending it back to flawless to do the work or get the work done elsewhere. This will save me a good amount in shipping costs.

Ok i called them, left a message, they returned my call in 20 minutes, talked to Brian.

Then they told me they service the laptops, they don't take it to some third party *cough* sager resellers *cough* OR you can get it repaired locally and send the bill to flawless computers. Of course flawless computers has to approve of the local repair guy. Also the guy stressed he'd match any price and there's free shipping.

24/7 support (they work on holidays allegedly), fast responses, price matching, free shipping, good repair services, $100 off notebooks. This is too good to be true. I have a feeling when the rumor spreads about this place, they'll get huge and turn into an alienware. Hopefully their support won't be bad 2-3 years down the line.

Cant beat it. If your looking to buy a clevo m570U/sager np5760, then I think now might be a good time to look into flawless computers. I will have to see how things pan out with them once I get my machine and have had it for a while, but so far emails are smooth, and Brian is quick to respond to my questions within not much of a wait at all. Less than a half hour.

I LOVE the fact that my friend can service my clevo under flawless warranty!

Here is Brian's response to my questions:

"If a customer sends in the system we repair it. If it's un-repairable, we send them a new one then send the defective one back to our distributor who we get our Clevo's from.

There are only 2 main companies who distribute Clevo's to resellers in the US.

    Thanks

    Brian Smith"

It just seems too good to be true. I just have a feeling a 2-3 years from now they might change their warranty or go out of business. They offer waaaay too much for their prices.

And now they just increased their prices, for the m570u at least. The base model costs more and you no longer get a 3 year warranty standard, it's a 1 year warranty.

its called marketing, when a company is still new and they want to get their names out their with great promotions. we cant expect them to always sell things at cost.

I have been talking with Brian, and though I think he truly does have great intentions, we were not able to come to an agreement with his "better price" against powernotebooks. As it turns out, within 4 hours of pricing a laptop online, the price was up $60 and the 3 year guarantee was now $100. Though Brian was more than willing to honor the earlier price and the 3 year warranty, I had a moment of clarity this afternoon....They are a new business, in a very competitive arena. The profit retailers make on this type of stuff is next to nothing in most cases. So, if the laptop breaks within 3 years, which is somewhat probable, how can they afford to pay for repairs on a computer, which in many cases can be very expensive? I know, I might catch some flack for this, but in a world where promises are rarely kept, and many businesses are short-lived, I am not willing to take my chances. I sincerely wish them the best, and hope they do make it. I am sticking with powernotebooks.com. Though I might be paying a few more dollars, it is worth it to me to have the peace of mind needed when purchasing such an item.

This is very true, but if you order with a credit card you have a bit more support if something happens to a new company.

Your credit card protection is usually limited to 6 months in case there are any issues with the purchase or the manufacturer's warranty, and the warranty extension you link to is only good after the manufacturer's warranty has expired.

Interesting thought. I wish I felt the same way about my cars! :)

Well I have not closed the deal yet with powernotebooks.com. Brian and I are still communicating. I must say, he is quite the professional, and is doing everything he can to earn my business. It just hit me, when was the last time a walk-in electronics retailer did everything they could to earn your business. All I can say is, wow!

    well... i fix cars to....lol.

Brian is a stand up guy and his product is amazing....read the review I just did (a few posts down)....They only use the best products in the notebook, so lets just say he goes out of business...and then your hard drive crashes!

OMG what to do?! Just send it back to seagate and they will replace it. Most of the hardware has a warranty on it as well....

I just wanted to give an update on my order...

Late last week (Friday) I got this email from Brian:
Needless to say, that was yet another major point in favor of Flawless. I tracked the shipment with DHL, and it actually made it here to the Twin Cities by the next day! Unfortunately, due to some miscommunication and incompetence at DHL, they weren't able to give it to me on Monday after telling me I could swing by and pick it up, but I did get it yesterday on the scheduled delivery day. :D

I'll give a much more detailed account of the computer after I've really put it through its paces. At the moment, I'm having lots of trouble with it, though not at all because of any fault of Flawless (and most likely not by any fault of the computer either). After giving it a quick test, I set about repartitioning the 100GB drive to prepare to dual boot Windows MCE & Linux. Unfortunately, I haven't even had the opportunity to start the Linux installation, because Windows has had some issues with 1 (or more, probably just one) of the patches available through Windows Update. I got it installed w/o trouble, but then during the course of getting all (never ceases to amaze me how many there are) of the updates, something got screwed up and it tossed a BSoD upon reboot. Fortunately I can roll this back with System Restore (I have lots of options, just need to try to use it to isolate exactly which update caused the trouble), so it's more of an annoyance than anything else. I suppose there might be a conflict between a particular update and the m570u hardware config, but I'm quite content to blame Windows on this one. My biggest frustration right now is that I have to wait 'til after work to get back to it. :)

Anyway, I just wanted to give yet more kudos to Brian at Flawless for providing a great customer service experience. My only regret is that I didn't find a way to leave the computer as he configured it. :)
