Good afternoon. I am planning on ordering a new laptop to replace my Asus G53SX-XA1 and had a couple of questions about the Clevo units...

Is the 95% screen upgrade worth it?

Do you guys notice a difference with the IC Diamond compound?

Do the current run of processors and GPU's typically become cheaper after new versions are released?

I poked around in the threads but couldn't really find what I'm looking for. I hope the questions aren't too "noobish". I honestly just found out about Clevo/Sager a couple of weeks ago.

    To answer your questions:

    1) That's up to you. Some will say an emphatic yes, while others say it depends on what you plan to use it for. Colors will be more vibrant and the screen will be brighter. You can use this link for comparison photos:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...-between-different-screen-options-photos.html

    2) The IC Diamond paste will usually result in temperatures ~6-8C lower. If you have high ambient temps or just want the best performance and heat management, it's definitely worth it. You can also apply the paste yourself if you're comfortable with opening up the machine.

    3) Not typically. A lot of the times when parts are superseded, they're discontinued and sold until stock runs out. Prices can be lowered, but it's not guaranteed. It's dependent on demand and the manufacturer. There are often better deals to be had when not waiting for a part to be discontinued.

Hope this clears up some of your questions :)

Just throwing my 2 cents in:

    1) Since I just recently bought a P150 with a 95% Matte screen, I was amazed at how good it looks in person. I will never get anything less again.

    2) Malibal #2 laid it out pretty well. I went with IC Diamond on my build because I run BOINC on my lappy which tends to heat things up alot.

Good info in this thread. I had many of the same questions myself. Thanks!
