    Ordering from Xotic to UK duties?

    Hi,

    I was wondering if there was anyone here from the UK who ordered from Xotic and if they did, how much duty/tax did you have to pay?

    I looked into this before deciding to get my 901 from a company in the UK. You won't have to pay any duty, just VAT at the usual 17.5% and customs/ shippers charges.

    thing is, is there any UK company that does the 5793 with a 1680 res and 8800GTX?

    novatech and rock both dont do itl....

    Nope you're right.. nobody in the UK does it with 1680. Out of interest why do you want that res?

    I'm sure there must have been a few. They just haven't popped up yet :) And as Fade To Black said, it should probably cost more ordering through XoticPC and the VAT than from RockDirect for example.... Nonetheless, for UK customers, Rock is worth it considering the standard 3-year collect and return warranty! :D

    Yeah well i have a family member int he states who can ship it to me packaged as a gift so i dont have to pay duties, but even with adding shipping cost, i think xotic is still cheaper than Rock, and Rock doesnt have 1680 option with the 8800 when before they did.

    Not to mention the Rock comes with the pointless DVD-HD drive which is now obsolete with Blu-Ray around! :D

    some vendors try to mod the chassis to give it more of a unique look and/or to help with their painting of it.

    Like how Alienware and VoodooPC re-brand their notebooks with new paint jobs and chassis mods (... Alien head, lights, etc..)

    seems to have a slight chassis mod to cover up the orange/silver trims... maybe even a paint job.

    Its still a Clevo M570RU.
