I'm thinking about selling my m18x for something a little more portable. How does the origin eon 15 fair as far as battery life is concerned. They are quoting 6 hours on the website. Also, does anyone have a review for the new version of this notebook ?

Never worked with or used an Origin PC sorry.

However, the specs look like it's a Clevo p157SM, or matching to the Sager, a Sager 8258-S, which I do own.

I can't say for Origin, but if they use the same components, same cooling, and same general build quality, it's going to be a monster of a laptop and you should be very happy with it.

I could squeeze 6 hours of my laptop with normal browsing, because of Nvidia's switching technology, the power hungry GPU would never be touched, and the i7 GPU would be underclocked normally with day to day use, so your watt-usage would be low enough to keep the battery going for a while.

For heavy gaming, I've been able to push an hour and a half to nearly 2 hours on battery as well.

But again, it's all depending if Origin builds similar to Sager.

Sorry I can't compare more, but I unfortunately don't know how Origin builds their clevo-base units compared to other companies.

Also, double check a Sager as the build out of a Sager with similar specs is a fair bit cheaper.

Thanks for the reply. I don't really see anyone talking about origin eons in here. I wonder why

They're overpriced Clevos. And the Clevo community is all about "best bang for buck." ;)

They haven't been around quite as long as many of the other Clevo/Sager resellers (despite having a background in the industry prior to forming Origin), let alone Clevo. You can read up on them if you like here (not much info).
