460 option great, does that mean you would get a smaller power brick. With a less expensive card the x7200 looks more appealing. Wouldn't the 470s be even better? I thought I saw them listed on Eurocom's site.

When will the 470 be released?

they also have the Internal TV Tuner so you can use the built in CATV input jack, I think the usb one that all the other sellers have does not activate the built in CATV input but I could be wrong.

@djarum I have no idea about the TV tuner since I've never looked into it since I have no interest for TV tuners lol. Sorry I can't help you and sorry I have no idea what you're saying/asking lol.

    @Scanner

No, the power brick seems to be the same. I think Clevo ships everyone with the same power brick along with the barebones so you're stuck with the nice doorstopper.

Yeah, the 470s should be better and I have no idea they aren't offering it with them. I guess it's because there are already notebooks with the 460 available (Asus G73JW, NP8760-S1, etc.) while I don't think there are any notebooks available with the 470 as of yet.

But either way, unless I'm mistaken, SLI 460s > single 480.

IF you look on side of the x7200 there is a catv input jack for hooking up cable TV to the laptop. The Internal TV Tuner that originpc has as a option makes this jack active where as the usb dongle option that all the other US reseller have does not make it active instead you hook the cable tv up to the dongle its not as slick imo, on the other hand its $35 more for the internal Tuner so I could see people not thinking its worth it, but if your going to order from originpc just to get the hdmi input why not pop for the internal tuner. :)

Nice build except It looks like you are getting robbed. You are essentially paying a thousand dollar premium for an HDMI input. Build the same one on a Sager reseller site and compare yours with the GTX 480 Sli. That's why I made such an uproar about it.

A bit weird. Quite a few resellers with 460M listed now (3-4?), for example Eurocom (I know, I know...), Multicom (Norwegian reseller and they are usually one of the first resellers with new hardware) and OriginPC's.

Hopefully we will see 470M in not too long!

its more like $500 taking in to account that they include 0 dead pixel guarantee and there 3 warranty is cheaper.

If the HDMI in is the same as the Clevo x8100 (which I have) it is essentially useless.
The x8100 supports the following inputs:

    1080i/30hz
    720p/60hz
    480p/60hz
    480i/30hz

Input lag is a major issue on 1080i/480i@30hz everything you feed to it will be lagging and ghosting. Basically, it isn’t really functional for any practical purpose.

720p/480p@60hz is better with the lag but not perfect. With this potion another issue comes up though because when you use full screen it will be 1280x720 stretched over your native FHD panel which causes loss of image quality.

I felt it wasn’t worth anything as a standard option, and I certainly wouldn’t pay extra for it.

It may not be worth it to you but to other people. Not all of us want it just for a screen to play on. I want it to record footage of gameplay and fighting game tourneys and such and this feature on a notebook is a convienant way to do it.

Also the HDMI in function was supposed to be a factory option. That option has been taken away from or by Sager and the only way around right now is to fork over hundreds of dollars more by going through other resellers. It dosent make it ok just because you don't care for it.

I havent found a 3d party app that can use the hdmi input for video capture. The included app sure doesnt. Are you aware of one?

Anyway, my point is more that making this standard equip drives up price for a large majority of people who will never use it. And, my attempts to use it as it exists just irritated me. Maybe others had a different experience?

I guess for those that can find a use for it, paying more should be ok?

It is the very same HDMI IN in the x7200-NP7280. This is the MAIN REASON that Most US importers opted out of including it right now.

That choice is up to the buyer if the want to pay for a factory option. There is no option is what I am saying.

I'd rather have a hdmi in that isn't that great than a plugged hole in the side of my laptop labelled HDMI IN

So hooking a PS3 or XBOX 360( just examples) won't work well with it?
If it could produce a 720p picture from a game console then that wood be nice!
Look I know it's wrong but some of us have limited space in there small office/home.

That's exactly my feelings too. This notebook is supposed to be the cream of the crop! This is supposed to be the most powerful gaming notebook in the world at this current time. I don't care if it's garbage, I'd rather there be nothing than a plugged up hole. If where the input should be is flush with the rest of the chassis then I don't care. But I don't want to feel like I don't have the most fully featured notebook on the planet whenever I glance at the left side of the machine.

    My opinions though.

If you can post a video of the HDMI input in action would be great :)
If you can, hook up a PS3 or XBOX to see what's the real deal.
Thanks and it would be much appreciated!

Dose anyone know of any USA based or international based that can sell USA Region 1 coded X7200's that have the CATV and the HDMI-in ports active, plus all the good options there are out there?

Last time I checked, the HDMI-in even on ORIGIN EON17 is still plugged and deactivated. So I'm at a loss as to find a X7200 that has both the CATV and HDMI-in both activated. At this rate I am looking for a X7200 reseller that sells the the X7200 and the Clevo parts for it, plus the driver disks, so I can build it my self. Still is there a reseller that has the HDMI-in and CATV ports activated?

Why can't they just have the HDMI go straight to the screen in 1080p like a tv would, isn't that what HDCP is for? I would like to be able to just turn the screen on and change its monitor input to HDMI to play console games in 1080p on it w/o having the laptop on, why doesnt this exist yet?

What is it good for the HDMI-IN? Would it be possible to do captures from the TV?
