    Hi

I was wondering if it would be possible with a p170em with hd7970m to connect via hdmi to a 3d tv and have the output from the laptop in 3d for games and movies etc. Or would this only be possible with the one witch comes with the 3d screen, which isn't yet released?

    Cheers

NO 120MHz LCD for the laptops coming anytime soon, we can't even get a ODM to spec one. Playing externally on a nice monitor will support it. Hard to find but well worth the search is a SAMSUNG S27A750D. 27" 2ms beauty!

So, the answer to your question is yes. You can output in 3D to a 3D capable external screen :)

Oh I'm sorry I thought it was my bad internet connection , didn't realize it had even posted, thanks for your responses though I was thinking of waiting for the 170em with 3d but that's good if I can output it to my 3d tv. My apologies for posting it more than once.
