What overclocking CPU options do i have for the Windows7 (build 7000) beta.

i used SetFsb on vista 64 with my

    P8600 @ 2.40GH Intel Core 2 Duo..

But the overclocking options where limited and i couldnt really get it all working right due to a key or some thing that wastnt suported for my processor..

has any new opens opened. up? I would realy like to get the most out of my CPU... as a quadcore is expensive and im pushing this CPU to its limits with World of warcraft high end play <_>/..

    What is the laptop model?

Montevina isn't supported by SetFSB so that may be your problem.

After I found out what the PLL is, I have succesfully overclocked my Pentium M notebook under Windows 7/7000 with setFSB, though for testing purposes only.

OC'ing with W7 is pretty stable on my desktop, if not better than XP level; though oc'ing on vista is a nightmare, same increase, it just doesn't boot up...

No other options at the moment with the M860TU, just the SetFSB PLL that you have used which isn't made for Montevina so doesn't give you customisation.

Maybe if we put together a fund to get the SetFSB creator to support Montevina...

    ACPI 76c (max)
    Core 65c (max)
    core 70c (max)
    Gpu 88c (max)
    HDD 54c (max)

are they safe temps?... only after about 30mins of play

im using the new Dox 185.68 which have lifted my max GPu 9800m GT temp by like 15c or so!!! but added huge performance.

+ im running a rated FSB of 1148.9 MHz lifting my 2.390 P8600 to 2.584

In these economic times i dont really want to kill any thing...

i know the GPu can reach about 10c higher than what it curently is and still be safe so im ok with that.. its the CPU and ACPI temps im more concerned with.

ill mainly be playing wow while its overclocked like this thou.. so i really have to see what the temps are with that.. but servers are down.

70-75c on CPU fine? and a 75-80c ACPI safe?

im running a m860tu and with the shared HSF.. im abit worried ill push it 2 far.

88C is a but high on the GPU. But this depends on the maximum core threshold temperature. Try to stay at about 10 C below the core threshold in order to be safe.
