You can overclock some mobile CPU's. But if the BIOS and chipset is anything like the D901C then your SOL :( We have tried and tried to overclock it and nothing.

the t7600G processer you can OC it.

I got just the t7600 in my m1710.

the t7600 kicks butt, it is good enough to play any game and even good at encoding.

in reality the t7600 is all you need at this point. it will do everything you need.

there is better for encoding. but for gaming even a t7200 is good enough

I don think it is a question of is it good enough, but more how far can you push it.

    I think its like this.

you can run the game 100% with a t2500, no slowdowns.

so you get a t7600. you still run it 100%.

then you get a q6800 and then it runs 100%

you can't fill the glass anymore. 100% is 100%.

now if your running synthetic benchmarks to your hearts content. woohoo then it's worth it and better.. ugh i guess so...

or you can encode movies to your hearts content.

I play games. my rig is for playing games that's all.

right now my m1710 is all I need. it plays almost every game @max res @ max settings. also it plays crysis @1600x900 tweaked shaders and shadows all other settings very high @ 30fps avg. (tweaked autoexec)

Now when a 8800gtx finally comes about. then I will consider. a new laptop.

but for me. the lowest avail processor will be all you will need for now and probably for a long time to come. Gaming Wize
