    Hey guys,
I'm sure you've seen me lurking, had some questions about overclocking a 7950gtx. I wanna do this without frying my card. My main reason is to get just enough of a boost to play bad company 2 at ALL low at the lowest resolution. My stock clocks are 567/700... If i move memory above like 710 it artifacts my whole screen. So i bump to 708 and thats it. my core however i heard can be moved up more. ON idle, with fans max, i have about 34 degrees C.

I am using Rivatuner to do this and check temps. Now, if i overclock TOO far, can i really DESTROY my card, or will my screen just lock up and i restart? like, lets say i make sure my temps stay under 50, or 60 max. can the overclock itself hurt the card?

You'll destroy it over time. High temps might not show damage right away but if you overclock too high and don't cool enough then your card will get damaged little by litte, that is especially true for the memory.

You'd start getting artifacts and crashes, but by that time it would already be too late.

So be sure about what you're doing, check for stable clocks and also check your temps. If you then stay around 60 to 65 like you say, it should be ok.

    REALLY? thats great lol!
cause i jumped my clocks from 567/700 to 621/708 and my card stays EXACTLY at 50!

-bear in mind my laptop is on a zalman 2000 notebook cooler (the big 17" one lol)

so yea, I guess im good then? if i stay at 50 and get no artifacts....
because this 40 point core clock raise is already a little bit of a noticeable improvement believe it or not.

you would need a quad core for bad company with that gpu. with a quad core and that gpu you will be able to run in 720p in medium fidelity (about xbox 360 quality) for it's visuals and that is pretty good.

nah guys, its BAAAAD lol... on ALL LOW settings and LOWEST FPS i can even put it on, i can do OK... and on 32 ppl servers, theres no way i can play...

EDIT: the overclock just makes the FULL freezes happen slightly less often lol
