I just got an i7-2920xm ES after a few folks on the Alienware forums gave it their praise. I'm having some trouble with it though. For starters, there is no option to overclock it in the bios... Second, the turbo boost refuses to go above 2.4ghz on all 4 cores making it quite a bit slower than my i7-2760qm. Any ideas?

This is an HM67 chipset, so I know overclocking is supported.
Is there an option during post that I am missing to enable overclocking? Or does the stock bios not support it? According to CPU-z I'm running bios version 4.6.4 with the date of 08/02/2011.

Use Thottlestop. Plenty of guides on here how to use it.

    Did you try Intel XTU?

Throttlestop can`t overclock i7 XMs...till today there is no way to OC from within a software.
Only Intel XTU writes it`s values directly into the bios vram/cmos...
I just checked and the Clevo bios doesn`t support Intel XTU out of the box...which is till today the only way on Clevo to overclock an XM CPU.
You have to request a special bios with Intel XTU support from Malibal (if there is one for this model)

Thanks for the responses, I'll email Malibal Tech Support. I guess I should have done a little more research before I bought this CPU.
