    Hey guys,

    I once again have the option to decide between the 680M and 7970M due to a shortage of GPUs on my P150EM that is currently in processing. I've been doing a bit of research and I can't seem to find a solid answer. At the moment, I am not interested in overvolting using a vBIOS. Which GPU delivers greater performance overclocked, but at stock voltages.

    If anyone knows has seen thread that goes over the FPS increase for various games at stock voltages for the 7970M that would be great. I found the following the 680M:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...m-review-lots-680m-benchmarks.html#benchmarks

    Also, I've never overclocked anything, but I understand that I need something like MSI Afterburner. Can someone give me a run down of what I need to do to overclock both the 680M and 7970M on the P150EM? Do they follow the same processes?

    Thanks,
    Josh

    thats quite the question to answer, especially since there are dozens of threads describing the overclocking of both gpus in details ;)
    u can expect around 20% extra perf. from the 7970m at stock voltage, overvolted up to 25-30%. the 680m is an overclocking monster that is able to reach about a 50% clock bump, but i dont know how much u can get of that at stock voltage.

    7970m 850/1250 -> 1000/1450
    680m 720/900 -> 980/1250

    These are both best case numbers really, either card could be worse. Once over volted the 680m has more room again.
