Before I begin, I just want to say I love my Sager5793. This machine is a beast.

I've been doing a bit of reading on Overclocking on forums and stuff, but I am still quite clueless. This is my first time owning a laptop, and my first time to attempt an Overclock (I did use ATItool on my desktop to overclock the video card, but that was relatively simple). I'm a gamer, so I'd like my computer to be at optimal performance!

    Oh, my system specs:

    - Processor: Intel® T8100 45nm "Penryn" Core
    - Video Card: 512MB PCI-Express nVidia GeForce 8800m GTX
    - Ram: 4,096MB DDR2 667 PC2
    - OS: Vista Home Premium 64-Bit SP1

Now, I've read on a few posts that ATItool and other clocking software does not work with the 8800m GTX, so I have to do it via Bios Flashing? My Bios version is 62.92.23.0.14, the ForceWare version is 174.90 (I have no idea what these mean).

    So my big questions are:

    1. Should I really overclock? Or should I wait until the video card is software compatible?

    2. Am I able to overclock with my current settings/versions? If not, what should I do so I can?

    3. If I am able to overclock, how should I go about with it? Is there a simple set of instructions somewhere? If not, could anyone give me a simple set of instructions (not like how to Bios Flash, but just in general).

    Any help is appreciated, TY!

PS. If more information/specs about my system is needed, just say so and I'll provide it.

    -Vince

1)Better not IMHO.Every card is different. If your warranty covers it,then go ahead.
2)You can overclock via Vbios flashing.
3)Make a bootable USB stick as per zfactor's guide and then copy the ROM and run it.

I wouldn't recommend to do so, highly unstable.

I see...so I really should OC my CPU? That setFSP program you use....it seems really complicated. Do I dare use it? =p
