just got my new laptop last week and bought a Antec notebook cooler. I set it up on a wooden table, and all I do is surf the internet. I played a game today, and the laptop did get hot. the keyboard wasn't too hot but the actual parts aroudn the keyboard got really hot. Despite the fan in my room being on and the outside window also opened, the laptop still feels warm to me. This is my first laptop and I don't know what to expect, but is the laptop supposd to be warm? It feels warm, not extremely hot, unless I play a game... Is there something wrong? I took all precautions. i have a cooler, no battery plug inside the laptop when i'm using it, and the window is opened only 2 feet away... Any tips? thanks. BTW, I went on speedmeter or whatever that program is to check the laptop teemperature and I got 35-37 degrees celsius.... EVEN WITH THE COOLER ON.

you call 37C overheating? go to AW forum and have a look at those 100C m15x, that's what I called overheated.
-
35-37c is not overheating, i think you are overreacting
-
37 C is quite cool...Lol. This thread title scared me for a split second. Oh those poor AW fanboys. Coolest dudes on the planet for a month or so. Now...its just sad
-
That is very normal. And yes parts of the laptop do get hot with use.

if those temps are accurate im psyched for getting one of these myself!
have you undervolted your comp? that'll lower temps without affecting performance. -

i believe you are referring to overclocking and underclocking. this changes the speed of the cpu and/or gpu, so overclocking = more power, more power consumption, greater heat while underclocking = less power, more battery life, cooler
check out the guide, it will tell you why undervolting does nothing to your performance. -
You cannot undervolt with the new Montevina platform as RMClock does not recognize the platform and clock speeds.

^^^Yet.....

do you have any info as to when a new version might be released
-
37 degrees celcius? Congratulations, you have a perfectly running laptop. Even my Vostro is always at least 50C.

That's some REALLY nice temperatures
... Nothing to worry about

Thank you very much for all the help.
