I feel that the owners of the Sager 5796/5797 Cleveo M570ETU/M570ETU laptops need their own forum for posts, problems, and resolutions. :D

    Let's get it started!

So I'm all alone here, or is there already an owner's lounge that I missed?

Probably just a symptom of being an early adopter; others'll undoubtedly show up sooner or later, all that's needed is just a little patience.

I know it's hard, so don't take my point as a criticism. :D

Here here.. this thread should already have existed long ago.
What was w8ting for this so long?

    To start this off..
Question.. So there isnt any chance to put a quad in NP5796 as i understood it? and that is the only difference between 96/97? Right?
also i dont like to open a can of worms again.. but, x9100 VS qx9300? Do those 2 extra cores actually do something in nowadays modern games?
    (not counting benchmarking)

    thx in advance..

yes, the only difference between the 5796 and 7 is quadcore support but the reason the 5797s can do it by a motherboard revision. so you can change the mobo if you want to get quad support
As for graphics cards... benchmarks are pretty much the only way to compare, unless you find a site that will use the games as benchmarks. But all other factors being the same, 2 extra cores on a graphics card should make minimal difference.

i just got one. i'm feeling a bit blue about it, in comparison to the joy i felt when i got my old and semi-broken fujitsu a few years ago.

the text on screen is not that sharp, esp. on less that max resolution.

the volume is low and tinny though i've maxed the volume both on the keyboard and on the OS. i used to be able to hear my fujitu all through my apartment, but i can't really hear the sager from the next room.

the location of the usb and modem jacks is kind of awkward. not that big of a deal but...

i already had one wierd experience with the laptop refusing to shut down, finally i popped the cd drive open and then it calmed down and closed.

i guess i'll get used it and maybe i'm just making too many comparisons to my old machine, but i just feel blue after spending all this money...
