    Hey y'all,

I'm configuring a new Sager NP8157 (Clevo P650HS-G) and I'm wondering if I should go with the 1080p 120 Hz TN screen upgrade.
Those of you who have the aforementioned screen in their build, can you please provide your comments and feedback.
It would also be helpful if you can provide a comparison with the default 1080p 60 Hz IPS option.

    Best,

    Edit: Added the Clevo number

Have you tried posting this question in the Clevo subforum?

    Hey @alexhawker

I'm not sure if it is an entirely Clevo question or a more general Screen question. Do you recommend posting there as well?

It seemed like you were soliciting opinions from Clevo owners, so I thought you'd get a better response there.

Rather than cross-posting the same question there, hopefully a mod can move this thread for you.

I suggest you post this question in the MSI forums as a lot of the latest MSI GT73VR laptops come with that screen. The majority of the Clevo owners have the 120hz but QHD not FHD screen or the 4K screen

I think @Mr. Fox has experience with the FHD 120hz panel though so he may be able to chime in

@Phoenix the NP8157 (P650RS) is a 15.6" screen but GT73VR is a 17.3" laptop, so they don't come with the 15.6" panel. Yeah, I hate it when people quote the Sager model because I never know what exact Clevo model it is which is annoying.

@virtualv I just did a screen swap from the 60Hz FHD IPS panel in my P750DM2-G. The 120Hz TN panel colors are not as good but the refresh rate makes up for it. I couldn't play Counter Strike well with the 60Hz panel but am fine with 120Hz.

Sager models confuse me, I just don't read them

The 17 inch 120hz FHD panel seems to get good reviews asbout its color accuracy like Adobe RGB and NTSC is this a different panel? The one I am talking about is the Chi Mei N173HHE-G32 17.3" FHD 120 Hz/5ms screen (G-SYNC)

i was on the fence between ips or tn but this post helped me decide on tn for a better fps experience. Thanks!
