I've noticed that there is a huge variety of temperatures people are getting while running Furmark or gaming. I've also seen people describing different fan profiles. I'm wondering if the fan profiles are different among Sager vs Mythlogic vs Malibal etc.

Some of these temperature differences cannot simply be from a bad paste job. I did a relatively in depth comparison of 3 different TIMs (ICD7, ProlimaTech pk-1, and Gelid GC extreme) and noticed that my system was allowing the temperatures to rise before kicking in to a higher gear. For example, I could hear the fan speeding up at intervals of ~5C starting at ~55C until 75C, but then remain at the same speed until 89C. Then the fans would increase to a higher speed, but reduce again once 86C was obtained. This cycle would go on over and over again. It was obvious that the fan could cool to 86C and probably several degrees cooler but it always stopped at 86C. I don't even know if the fan speed at 89C is the maximum speed or not. Unlike the HM models, the Fn+1 does not work for my system. Another question is why would the fan profile allow for such a large increase (~15C) before increasing again once past 75C?

I'm wondering if the Sager models have a more aggressive fan profile than other builders so I'm putting this question out there.
