I'm looking to make up my mind in the next few weeks. It's just too bad there aren't more reviews out there.

The Clevo 570ru, is a sweet system. I told you, you would like it :D
Man two super power computers. You should have asked Voodoo to put some pneumatic wheels and a handle on your Omen, so you could really kick-ass in gaming.
The 570ru is a really nice laptop. I was going through so much pain trying to pick between the Voodoo version of it and the U709. I ended up getting the U709, only cause I wanted the AMD. Good luck with the system man, I hope you got it in a similar poison purple or black to match your beautiful Omen.

The one factor that does matter is if you have a gaming rig or not. I have a decent Q6600, 8800GT, etc..desktop I built back in January, so spending the extra dough on a better Sager notebook isn't exactly worth it since most of my gaming is done on my desktop. I've been debating it in my head for weeks now, and although I'm more of a notebook lover, I'm not sure I would use it as much as my desktop. The Gateway's offering of the GTS with a processor upgrade should be able to satisfy most gaming needs for the forseeable future, although it's obviously not a Sager but 1000 bucks cheaper with available options I would choose if going with a 5793. Decisions really suck.

I wonder, why don't other laptop manufactures offer an 8800 GTS? I've searched around and Gateway seems to be the only one offering it, which seems a bit crazy since it obviously gives a laptop a significant edge over a laptop offering an 8600 card.

@dozerking, I totally agree with you. if you have a powerful deskptop already, then go for the p-6860fx.
little correction: HP offer 8800m GTS on their HDX as well

not a huge fan of them imo...the e8400 on air will do almost 4.3 oc'ed... but with the newer q6600's you seem to have to be lucky to get one that will do 3.6...

    nice guts zfactor!

I battled with the same decision, probably like most people. I went with the Q6600 as I wanted the quad core ability over the next 2 years without an upgrade. I chose the Q6600 for it's overclocking ability and price of course, You also need the "G0 stepping" version of the Q6600 in order to overclock and run it at cooler temperatures. I can't remember the other version name, but either way, if you do go with quad core, go with the Q9450 at this point. It's a tough call really. If you upgrade often, yearly even, I would say go with the fast Dual Core chips(E8400 is great), as most games only use two cores, and don't really utilize all four. I plan to do some heavy overclocking with my Q6600, so I'm happy having slower stock speeds. You won't be sorry either way, as they are all excellent chips that run circles around the previous Pentium chips and current AMD chips. I was always an AMD guy until this generation, I just couldn't pass up on these badboys.

(I'm assuming you know all of this, just reiterating)

yeah, I think i'm going to pull the trigger right now, I have it sitting in my Shopping Cart, but can't decide to get it shipped or pickup in store. I know my local BB(i have 5 of them in the general area) doesn't have them in stock, so I'm not sure what would be faster. I can't make a decision for the life of me.

how new do you mean zfactor, in the past few months/weeks? I know it depends heavily on the section of the wafer where it's cut, at least that's what I've been led to believe.

If you want raw power = sager 5793
If you want moderate power and ok scree = Gateway FX
If you want moderate power and huge multimedia screen = HP HDX Dragon.

they have since switched the q6600 to new boxes like the ones the new 45nm's come in.. those are the ones that are not clocking well. if you want a good q6600 look for the older darker blue boxes not the new lighter ones. the new ones have much higher vid than the old ones which limits their oc ability..

also it doesnt make much difference about the wafer..it can but its not what will determine if its good or not..
