Ok, the title may be bit much, but after using it for a few hours my wrists feel like they should be bleeding. Maybe this is Clevo's not so subtle negative reinforcement to train people to raise their wrists when they type.
Are the edges around the keyboard and touchpad really supposed to be this sharp? There is no rounding or beveling at all and is only slightly blunted by the rubberized surface.
I suppose if I took some 400 grit sandpaper to the edges it would look like crap and probably void my warranty?
This laptop is both the bleeding edge in terms of technology and the laptop with the bleeding edges in terms of physical pain.

depends on the person, i actually like it. at first when i got the laptop i thought it was kind of weird as well, but you learn to like it over time. i am actually more worried that the sharp edges would go away after a few month. maybe i am weird
-
Doesn't bother me much. It leaves marks on my wrists for sure, but I don't really feel it. Though you're certainly not the only person who's bothered by the sharp edges. If you're thinking about sanding it down, a less permanent alternative is to put some soft tape (masking/duct) over the edges, though that would probably look horrible as well.

I don't mind my NP9170, the edges are beveled a bit, and it isn't just a straight drop off, there is a bit of a angle around the edge. I don't know how it is on the NP9150 though.
-
Thought about this the other day, it is quite sharp, but i like it too.
perhaps put get a bit of cloth or sponge to rest your wrists on, saves you from hacking away at the chassis and perhaps causing problems to structural integrity in the future -
Annoying to have to mod a brand new laptop just to make it comfortable to use. Any thing I add will make it bulkier or just look bad. Maybe I can wrap the edge in something softer like an adhesive leather or vinyl if I cand find something of that sort.

Hey, good idea, I could use a faster wired gaming mouse, a bigger monitor, or 2 maybe. Or I could just use my desktop. =)
-
Perhaps you can learn to type without leaving your wrist on the edge.
-
Just put something under the back feet of the laptop to raise the angle. Don't cover the fans.

I'm not sure if this applies to you, but back when I had my MBP (ew I know), I used to get that same feeling on my wrists. At first I thought it was due to the edges of the chassis being too sharp but later realised it was because of a small but quite strong vibration that was being caused by one of the components inside (presumably the HDD). It would cause my wrists to become so uncomfortable along the edges. Again, this might not be your problem, but could be worth eliminating it as a possibility

I personally use my jacket or pullover under my wrists to use the mouse pad, its mostly annoying when one uses the mousepad.
Also using some kind of cloth or napkin may help, i do that too.
I AM getting used to it anyway.

Generally when I type I type my hands hover just over or just barely touch the wrist area below the keyboard. During extended gaming things are different though, it's hard to hold your wrists at the perfect angle for several hours.
This ridiculously sharp edge would have been a definite negative in the pros/cons of buying this laptop had I known. Unfortunately it's buried at a bout page 200 something in the owners thread, no one seemed to have noticed or commented on it early on. Did something change? -
It's something you get used to, just like the rubber coated mousepad (plain silly).
To put things into perspective, the MBP users with their aluminium sharp edges had it worse than us. At least we have rubber-coated. -

Wow, my tab key magically started working after I smacked it hard. Now the only thing left annoying me is the sharp edges.

I'm verifying whether rounding the corner slightly with some 400 grit sand would void my warranty or not, but I did come up with a temporary solution. I had some painter's masking tape that I put a couple layers over the edges and it helps a lot.

Some of that tape used to wrap tennis racket handles would be perfect I think.
-
As it turns out the tape used to wrap tennis rackets, golf clubs, and base/softball bats are all taped in the middle but not all the way to the edges and thus won't work for this.
I did get a positive response from Pro-Star that it would not void my warranty (Thanks Wayne)and proceeded to sand off the friggin sharp edge. 15 minutes with a fine toothed wide file, a 300 grit foam sanding block, and a 600 grit piece of sand paper cleaned it up nicely. I took my time and just barely rounded it over, probably no more than 1mm was sanded off, but it makes a huge difference. It's a minor change, but over time it's always the little things that bug the crap out of me.
I will warn anyone wanting to do the same to please verify with your reseller or builder just to be on the safe side. Put it across as an unhappy customer who can fix a minor issue rather than returning the whole system. It works because that was me 2 days ago.
