unfortunately thats not ur actual bios version :) during bootup press f2 repeatedly in rapid succession to enter ur system bios, thats where ur version number for bios and ec will be :)

that ending looks like a modified clevo bios, just as sager has their LS endings. vanilla clevo bios versions are just strings of numbers without any letters as far as ive seen.
u can flash either sager or clevo bios but i wouldnt recommend crossflashing.
also, when u do decide to upgrade, make sure to update to the latest ec first and then to the latest bios.
best thing to do would be to ask ur reseller directly if they have a more current ec&bios for you. they would then also provide u with instructions on how to flash those.

why would you want to flash a Clevo bios on a non-Clevo machine?

in the end, theyre all clevo machines, since the barebones were manufactured by them. vendors like sager or digital storm just take these barebones and configure them with various hardware components. some of those vendors also take the original clevo bios and ec versions and modify them to their likings. but the compatibility to vanilla clevo firmwares is always given, since the barebones ARE clevos ;)

i know for fact that <strike>malibal</strike> mythologic does their own, at least to the extent that they revise or make changes to stock clevo. not sure about sager or any of the other system builders/OEMs though.

so I would just like to clarify. I bought a Metabox from Australia, clevo based. Is it safe to upgrade the bios to clevos latest?

generally, u can always upgrade to a clevo bios & ec, no matter who modified ur current ones.
only thing u have to worry about is HOW to do the upgrade.
restart between bios & ec or not?
take out battery between the two or not?
can u upgrade directly to the latest versions or is there an in between step necessary to firmware versions between ur current and the newest one?

if u know how, u can pretty much flash back and forth between vanilla clevo and modified vendor firmwares. you can even flash back to older versions, altho that is never recommended and could of course brick ur machine ;)

Then why would you think you have a Sager BIOS? Also congrats for falling for their marketing, just like Origin's moron marketing and paying more for the same machine. Next time, just suggestion, look at Sager/Mythlogic instead. Get your money's worth, and don't pay extra for the moronic marketing bs.

Thanks for the help I updated to the newest clevo bios, isnt Fn+1 supposed to do something with the fans?

I wasnt sure because it came with a sager instruction manual and at the time I bought it I did look at sager and it was slightly cheaper to get it from DS.

They don't appear to be Sager resellers since their prices are WAY more expensive than Sager are. Just spec'ed their machine to what I paid LPC-Digital. $500 more is not slightly cheaper, that's massively more expensive.

yup, it forces the fans to run at 100%, but that function depends on the kind of bios u have. afaik theres a bios from eurocom, mythlogic and sager (?) that have the fn+1 functionality implemented. vanilla clevo bios for the EM series doesnt have it (for whatever reason....)

I believe they don't like the pressure it puts on the bearings of the fans, but will include the feature if they are asked.

That and it's not needed. These machines run cool enough so that it never goes into high gear fan mode, even with an OC on the 7970M for me. Maybe if you OC a XM CPU you'll see it use the highest fan speed?

lucky on your behalf. playing games where the gpu is above 90 (crazy right for a 7970m), the gpu temp rises to about 92, making the max fan kick in ):

It's always good to specify because every game is different and someone new might try to compare their furmark temperatures to your gaming temperatures.
