    Greetings,

Today is the date related to mayan doomsday prophecy but I was thinking that we haven't had any battery monitoring threads for P150/170EM and HM series, maybe some people could use these info to compare how quickly it wears under different conditions like usage over time, how aggressively the battery was being used, etc.

    This is mine:

    Model: P150EM

Time of purchase: 6 months ago

Battery life: Averaged at 3 hour 30 min

Usage behavior: Nearly full discharged from 100% 5 to 6 times a month

Action when reached 100%: Battery was not removed and was left charging until the next time I need to move

    Wear level: 3.8%

Well hopefully we won't become the history so soon :D

interesting, everytime i discharge mine 100% the wear goes up by like 3%, discharged it 3 times in my 4 months of owning it, its at 7.9%. i dont discharge it anymore now, keep it to 20~30% before i shut it down so the battery doesnt get killed :(

also how do you get yours to run 3 hours 30 minutes? i can hardly get mine to do 2 hours on full charge

lastly, there wouldnt be history if we were destroyed :p

Well a hidden history if need be :D

I made sure no program is using the dGPU when no game is launched, the thing is, Steam and Adobe reader are defaulted to run using NVIDIA GPU, gonna have to assign them to use Integrated Graphic everytime you update (Clean install) the driver. Another thing I did to extend the battery life was limit the multiplier to x12 (1200MHz) and enable Power Saver (C0% = 30 in Options) using ThrottleStop 5.00, Clock Modulation and Chipset Clock Mod remain 100.0%. That way when idling if the CPU utilization on each core is below 30%, the CPU clock will stay at 800MHz.

Note that any GPU monitoring tool also counts as using the dGPU, mustn't leave them on when using the battery.

10% at start is a lot... Maybe you should check with your seller. During that 2 or 3 days at what percentage do you charge? Is it very random or charges from low battery level? I'm not an expert in battery but I normally try to charge only when the battery reaches critical level and charge to full at once. Another thing is that I normally drain it slowly, been doing only web browsing when it's on battery.

    Model: P150HM

Time of purchase: 1 year ago

Battery life: Averaged at 2 hour

Usage behavior: Nearly full discharged from 100% 2 to 3 times a month

Action when reached 100%: Battery was not removed and was left charging until the next time I need to move

    Wear level: 20.4%

Observation: I have finished two old 3d games on battery (average 20Hours) ... even if graphic card doesn't run at max speed, i think that it could maybe explain a quicker wear.

full discharges are never recommended. they speed up the battery wear extremely. if possible, make sure to switch off ur laptop when the battery is around 10-15%.

Draining speed does effect I think, I used to play games on battery mode on my old sony vios, 2 years after the battery could only last 30min compared to 2 hours at purchase.

Ah didn't know that, but guess I was doing it alright, I usually turn off when the first warning at 10% pops. Perhaps there's a maximum deep discharge level for the battery cells in laptops.

Quick question...What can I do to make windows show me the remaining time of my battery? I am using windows 8. I only get percentage but no time remaining when on battery.

That does not help. I wish to enable windows functionality. What can I do?
