Kind of worried. It's been like this since I bought the thing. I figured it was normal. I've only repasted the CPU once when it seemed to overheat and it seemed to have fixed the problems with overheating. I just figured the GPU was always supposed to be blazing hot. I've reinstalled OS many times throughout my uses so it isn't some driver problem. But I'd like the more experienced opinion on it. This was after a two match session on a game I just bought, Splinter Cell Blacklist. The CPU seems to run hotter than the GPU. The first bootup when I originally downloaded the GPU was averaging 97*C. The CPUs the same. The second time I played (where the pic below came from) I seemed to average high 80's low 90's for the CPU and the same on the GPU. Its funny but before I would get around 30-40fps and this time got 50-60fps. Same settings too, ultra texture and shadows while keeping other settings off or low such as FXAA for the AA and Field AO & SSAO for the Dynamic Ambient Oclusion. Even in other games like BF4 and ArmA III and even back on Star Wars TOR the GPU ran mid 90's to upper 90's.

    Should I worry about this? I have a Sager NP9150 I think (P150EM). Intel i7-3610QM and Nvidia GTX 675M.

    hi
another person having similar problems but he has the 17" http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/743360-p170em-maintenance-guide.html

i ran ghosts for about 30 minutes and my max temps were that high but the actual temps during the game were fine.
when was the last time you cleaned your vents and fans out with compressed air. dust can add 10c and if you have a cat or dog it can go even higher as somehow their hair gets in the smallest places.

also try some other monitoring software as you can see by the pic below im getting different readings on each.
hwinfo64 / gpu-z / core temps / nvidia inspector can all be got from my sig below.

Hi, I have a 150em too (xmg p502 i73630qm+7970m) and playing crysis3, battlefield 4, and similar games, my cpu is always below 70ºC, and gpu is arround 70-75ºC.
In my opinion you have some kind of problem, I´ve never repasted, I´ve only appiled the aluminum foil mod to cover the gap between fans and air exit.
I hope it to help you.
    Regards

I dont think the peak temps mean muçh as the 30 minutes of game play shows on the graph on right at 60-62c throughout play for the gpu. I will find some software to monitor the cpu while gaming. Thanks for the advice.

I have a P150EM with the same specs as you (GTX 675M, i7-3610QM), and my temps were also peaking at approx. 97C for the GPU, no matter how many times I repasted, cleaned fans, etc..
I got a notebook cooler with adjustable fans, removed the back cover, and now the GPU peaks at 85C. Really impressive results :)

Copper RAM heatsinks/heat spreaders might help too. :)

Not unless you modify the bottom cover.

Welp, just repasted the CPU and GPU with Antec Formula 7. Huge improvement. Thanks guys. Capture.PNG

Edit: This was again like the last, playing one session of Splinter Cell Blacklist. The average GPU was 79 for awhile but then around 82.

Even my idle CPU is cooler now.

You could probably also flash Prema's BIOS mods that allow for the Fn + 9 Full speed fans. I noticed that it does help quite a lot in keeping the temperatures manageable. I'd rather replace worn out fans than a dead GPU : /

No point with temps in the low 80s.

Even during long gaming sessions Meaker, it doesn't matter? I ask because I really have no idea if there is any difference between 70ºC or 80ºC on a GPU on the long run. Maybe I've been abusing the full speed fans my self :/ . Still, for me, my mSata will often reach temps of 80º C (well beyond the 70ºC it considers as the top operating limit) without the full fans. So it is always good to have said option handy, I think ^^.

Your msata should not be getting so hot, the system draws air from outside and vents it so it sounds like your msata has an issue or your case is venting is blocked. Have you got copper ramsinks in it? They can raise internal temperatures.

Unfortunately, the problem is the specific mSata model, an intel m525. Intel says that it requires "active cooling" solutions to work. The vents airway is clean as a whistle (I use those compressed air cans every 2 or 3 weeks and have no furry pets). I haven't added no cooper ramsinks as of now. The best I can do is have them send me some thermal pads :(. Which I doubt would do much good for my lap.

Sorry, didn't mean to threadjack. But regarding the OPs current temps, is it ok to do long hours of gaming / computing with the GPU at mid 80ºs Meaker ?
