    Hey Guys,

I installed 8.1 earlier today but cant seem to get the touch pad driver installed. I have tried W8 Drivers from sager and Synaptics but both give me the error below when I try to get to Mouse Settings.

i'd wait till after this thursday when 8.1 is officially released. you'll probably get a synaptics update soon thereafter.

I hope so, all I could find is how Synaptics has Full Compliance on W8.1 but we shall see. I suppose with time it will get fixed. Just used to Two finger scrolling lol

Try Windows default drivers. I've read that a lot of vendor specific drivers are not working under 8.1 at the moment, but some users have had success with Windows generic drivers.

^ Thats what its using now as a generic mouse. But it lacks all the features/enhancements and right now the touch pad really sucks.

8.1 came out and still no driver. The touchpad is the only thing that's not working...

I fixed it, I ended up going to Station-Drivers - News getting the latest Drivers for a synaptics touchpad from Dell

I installed it and it wasn't exactly working just yet. I had to go to device manager and manually update the driver. Browse My Computer> Pick from a list> Unchecked show compatible devices > scrolled down to synaptics clicked on Dell Touchpad(using Dell driver) and continued. All is good now.

A similar process might work with the generic synaptics drivers.
