Alright, so installed Prema's latest P150EM bios mod in order to keep my temperatures down and give me the ability to manually kick in maximum fans. Later, I was streaming at a tournament and noticed my CPU going over 100 C in the Intel XTU w/ the processor going at 3.50 Ghz. I figured I need to repaste (my CPU has always run hot so I figured I would need to at some point), but obviously I can't do that at the tournament. I sort of panicked and disabled the TurboBoost feature (via the XTU) in an effort to quell the crazy temperatures, but now, I can't re-enable TurboBoost. The option to turn it back on doesn't even exist anymore in the XTU; it's just disappeared. The Prema mod doesn't seem to give me any options to turn it on via the BIOS either.

How do I go about re-enabling turbo boost?

I apologize for the double post, but I was able to fix it. Turns out Intel XTU 4.3 has some issues with P150EM w/ Premamod. Anyone using XTU w/ Prema should downgrade to 4.2. Thought I'd try it and the option immediately became available again and all is back to normal.

Still, I'm wondering why my CPU temps just are so crazy high. Even my idle temps are around 63-65 C when other P150EM owners are claiming far less. I figure a repaste is the first step, but would anything else cause that issue?

What thermal paste did you have in your clevo ? Well pushing hard on cpu its normal to get high temperatures.. but 100ºc its to much maybe you need a new brand of thermal paste that's my advice.

I have P150EM too ( i7 3720qm processor ) and never seen my temperatures reach 100ºc only 90ºc with an heavy test.
    I use arctic mx-4 !

Just stock thermal paste. Origin didn't offer any options for laptops back when I ordered so the kind I got was probably not of the best quality. I rush ordered some Gelid GC-Extreme so I'm going to try that, Amazon didn't have any arctic MX-4 that was eligible for Prime

This is going to sound obvious, but make sure you clean out the fans and heatsinks. Dust buildup can cause temp to increase by 5C as I have experienced.

As for thermal paste, another vote for Arctic MX-4, it's a great paste that has good performance and service life, is beginner-friendly and easy to clean. But as I have recently discovered, if you want the absolute lowest temps possible, there's no substitute for Liquid Ultra. Idle temps are about the same, but under load, temps are 10C less compared to using MX-4. There is just no competing with liquid metal paste period.

Yeah a good clean can work wonders but that and the paste should sort it. If not the heatsink itself may have issues.

UPDATE: I cleaned out the fans and heatsinks, and repasted my CPU with the GC-Extreme. Getting MUCH better temps now, with idles @ 45-50 C and full load (just some Throttlestop and XTU tests) between 80-85 C.

That's good to hear! I've read good things about the Gelid compound. Thanks for reporting the temps and giving some feedback.

Cool, looks like all the hardware is working properly then, don't forget to clean it every few months :)
