Hi guys, ever since having the laptop new as one of the first adopters of the P150EM, I've been having some issues with Realtek RTL8723AE wifi card.
I have a TP-Link TL-WR1043ND 300mbps router using latest firmware
Problems:
1. Only ever connect at 48-54mbps (previous and work laptop connects at 150 and 300mbps), signal is 5 bars at excellent
2. Random lag spikes and time out when pinging router
3. Random auto disconnecting and reconnecting
At first I thought it was the router freezing up when my net stops working, but I have tested numerous times on my iPhone and my wifi works fine but not on my clevo.
I thought it was immature drivers at first when I got the laptop as I couldn't find RTL8723AE drivers on the realtek website but it's been months now and I still can't find new drivers.
Anyone else having similar issues?

I also purchased a RTL8723AE in a 150em back in early may. Since then I've had consistent problems with this wireless chip. I've tried using sager drivers, Clevo drivers, and 2-3 random realtek drivers i found on the internet. It wold also occasionally fail to connect to wireless networks (windows 7 would just display a message box that said "could not connect to wireless network" and not display any other information. The other very glaring indicator for me was bluetooth. I own a bluetooth razer orochi and it would disconnect every 15-45 minutes without fail, and i would have to use shift-f12 to disable and re-enable bluetooth to allow the mouse to connect again. Wiping windows didn't seem to fix it either.
My only solution was to purchase Amazon.com: Intel Network 6235AN.HMWWB Centrino WiFi Card Advanced-N 6235 Dual Band Bluetooth Retail: Computers & Accessories And replace it. It might of been a bad chip i had, but i really didn't want to deal with having no laptop for 2-3 weeks to try another realtek chip that may or may not be any better. You can find a very good guide for doing so at forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/629205-wireless-network-card-upgrade-keyboard-replacement-memory-upgrade-guide-sager-np8130-np8150.html The actual guide is for a np8150 but all the steps are exactly the same for the 150em. Since then i've had zero bluetooth issues and my wireless connectivity has been spotless. -
Try here for newer drivers: Realtek drivers Wireless
They have 3 sections that include your card. -
Thanks for the links, updated my driver to the latest dated 06/08/2012 (up from 01/12/1011) in device properties, but doesn't seem to change anything, still stuck at 48mbps and unable to join 40MHz networks. Guess I'll be looking at the centrinos. Thanks guys

I would just like to say I have the same problem, and I have been extremely frustrating. Especially since I have 100 meg broadband and a 40Mhz router!

Purchased P150EM in Australia from local system builder (Metabox) in June and had same problems with Realtek RTL8723AE from the start ruining an otherwise very happy and satisfied purchase, returned the first card to metabox thinking it was a intermitent hardware problem only to have same problems with second unit!!, disabling and renabling the hardware in device manager would fix the problem but having to do this everytime the WIFI decided to stop working on BOOT was too much too live with so picked up a second hand Killer N1103 on fleabay and never looked back.
Shame on Realtek for releasing this hardware with crappy non functional drivers. -
So any updates to this? Tried the latest drivers, still stuck at 48 mbps here. Also random disconnects with DNS errors.
Name resolution for the name teredo.ipv6.microsoft.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded. -

I've had problems with mine, all of a sudden it just stopped working after a restart where Windows 7 attempted an update.
Reinstalling Windows 7 over the previous installation did not work.
I'm going to try a complete reformat of the drive and reinstall, but at this point I'm not exactly optimistic it solve the problem.
A quick Google search reveals numerous reports of problems with this card, lack of driver support from RealTek, problems getting it working with GNU/Linux, and many people just buying a different chip as a replacement (as this thread has shown).
