It is impossible to install one of these keyboards into the P150HM, even if you are super handy with a dremel and some modding skills, because the KBC/EC Firmware won't recognize it. Bummer.

I bet you could solder the backlighting into an always on position using the 5V line on a USB port.. That's assuming the new keyboard itself has the same connection to the mobo. Which with the additional customization, it undoubtably won't lol..

MSI was the first one out with the Steelseries keyboard last year. And now it seems that Clevo have copied the exact same with the same lights

Is it a steel series one or have they just sneakily copied its design?

Clevo did not copy the keyboard from anyone. They simply use the same supplier.

Like hizzaah said - it's probably not the same connection, likely a secondary connection for the backlight on top of the regular ribbon cable.

Also - what's with the windows key being on the right side?

LOL!! They all come from the same supplier, MSI, Gigabyte, Clevo and many others use the same contract house...so yes they will be the same.

Something MSI has had implemented for some time now, a clever gaming move, always annoying having the windows key on the left side especially if you accidentally hit it

That specific layout is just one fancy way of avoiding the Windows key. Some desktop gaming keyboards have a hardware toggle between normal and gaming modes where it disables that key and a few others to minimize interference.
