Hello, after some weeks being a happy user of my NP9150, im considering to upgrade to GPU, right now i have the GTX670M.

It runs perfect my games, but i would like to try playing ''Ultra'' BF3. The problem is that i dont live in the U.S so my only ''possible option'' would be to order it directly from Sager (but it would be a bit problematic and could take more time to arrive, apart of the customs) or through Dell.

Someone knows if the M17x GTX680M/HD7970M MXM is compatible with my NP9150? (btw i have the last bios update) Do i need a new heatsink or it works fine with the GTX670M version?

    Greetings

hm everything alright with u hula? seem to be a big negative lately :p

as for the gpu upgrade: heatsink wise im not sure,u might have to mod ur heatsink, but id rather get a new one in ur case. both the 680m and the 7970m are compatible with ur machine. just contact ur laptop vendor/reseller and see if he has any upgrade kit options available for purchase. if not just try a different reseller, i for one got my 7970m kit including heatsink and screws from R&J tech for example :)

Alienware loves different brands GPUs. Sager despite them (lol) so I guess it won`t be successfull
    You need a Clevo 680M/7970M

I heard that someone was able to put an MSI 680m into a Clevo machine. Probably one of the posts from Prema.

Yeah, Dell GPU's won't work in Sager laptops. The system just cranks the fans at max when the GPU is installed because of faulty sensor readings so you wouldn't even get to Windows. Tried it) The msi GPU on the other hand might work. As far as i know the MSI laptops are no branded so either CLEVO/DELL cards should work just fine there!
