If I buy a P150HM from RJTech without a wireless card or blu ray reader can I use the Intel 5300 wifi chip and 4x blu-ray reader from my old M860tu? The reason I'm asking is because my out of warranty M860TU from 2008 died last month and I've taken its 2x2GB DDR3 1333, 320GB hard drive, wifi card and blu ray drive out just in case.
Obviously, if it is possible, I could do it with any vendor but the cost for a 2920XM and GTX 485m (when in stock) system from RJTech comes in at ~$2600, about $400 less than Sager for similar functionality provided I can get the two to work. That's close to a 2820qm to 2920xm upgrade or a GTX 460m to 485m upgrade.
I'm also considering buying a Kingston HyperX 2x4GB DDR3 1600 kit from Newegg, about $70 cheaper than what RJTech offers so long as the heatsinks don't cause a problem. I'm not sure if that kit is intended only for SFF desktop boards that take so-dimms rather than notebooks, considering the new Sandy Bridge mobile offerings are the first to support DDR3 1600.
Also how reliable is RJTech? Basically, do you expect them to be around to honor a warranty in three years? Thanks.

I believe everything you've listed there should work.

Anyone else want to chip in on RJTech? -
I was surprised they didn't have the 485m as an option yet seeing as it is shown for the P150HM on their main page. But judging by their X7200 pricing, a 485m should add $495 from a 460m. You could probably contact them and get it sorted out as they seem to have them on hand, just not listed for certain models.
I'm also curious if they would/could do a P150HM with a matte screen, I'd be willing to pay extra for that. I still don't understand why they cant put a matte panel from the P151 (NP8130) in a P150 or swap the components from a P150 chassis into a P151. There must be some major reason otherwise I would think RJTech would offer it given their generally wide selection. -
Yeah, thanks for that info. I plan on utilizing existing components too (SSD, HDD, RAM), however it only saves me about $50. But it says ships out within 3-5 days whereas apparently other places won't ship until "end of january".

The 485m is now available on RJtech. I'm looking at the p150hm configuration, and it's actually not cheaper at all. For roughly around the same price, I have ram and a hdd on xoticpc.com. hmmm

The big things that save me money are the hard drive, ram, blu ray and OS. I'm holding off on the SSD for now but I don't really need more than 200GB so my old 320GB will do just fine. I'd like to get DDR3 1600, RJTech is the only place to get that preinstalled, and with them I have the option of installing my own. I've got an unused Windows 7 Retail license already and I don't need a 6x blu ray reader as opposed to the 4x I already have.
It really just depends on your circumstances, buying an entire system from them is definitely not worth it IMO, but it can start to add up otherwise. -

does the p150HM and p170HM support 1600MHz for RAM?

Thanks.
And all currently available SB CPU's support 1600MHz as well right? -
I'm not sure about the 2630QM since it's OEM only. According to Intel's specs the 2920XM, 2820QM and 2720QM do but there is no 2630QM listed. DDR3 1600 could be a quad-core only thing, meaing the 2630QM has it. It could aslo be a high tier feature, implying it wouldn't because the listed dual core 26xx models don't. I'd get at least a 2720QM to be sure. -
I just blew a love note to Intel asking them to provide specs on their website for the i7-2630QM considering it's showing up in every Sandy Bridge laptop on earth.

i7-2630QM: stock 2.0 GHz; 3/4 core: 2.6GHz; 2 core: 2.8GHz; 1 core: 2.9GHz; 1333MHz DDR3; 650 MHz IGP

Hmm, I see that the 2630QM only supports up to 1333MHz RAM, that's not good news, at least for the Spec Updates Data Sheet link.
The link from CPU-World.com shows it CAN support up to 1600MHz RAM.
Which is which? -
Believe Intel.

I can confirm that the i7-2630QM is indeed 2.0-2.9GHz - it is a sort of SI/manufacturer part so you probably won't find much more info on it that what's in the link Phinagle posted above. I haven't actually tested 1600MHz RAM on the new models but AFAIK the 2630 supports upto 1333MHz.
