I have a new P150HM on the way and 2 Kits of Hyperx PnP 2x4GB 1600mhz ram. Im wondering how much difference in battery consumption and heat it would make if i used just one kit (leaving 2 slots empty) or both kits (filling all 4 memory slots)?

The 1600Mhz runs a little warmer than stock (to the point where you MAY feel it through the palm rest, but not always the case). But you really won't see any overall power increase between 1 kit or 2, or much increase in heat between 1 and 2 for that matter.

    Hi ppl,
Sorry for using this topic but I also have a few questions regarding 2 vs 4 slots:

    - Anyone tried 4 x 4Gb HyperX 1866Mhz (16Gb), on P150HM?
    - If Yes, does it still work at 1866Mhz or it lowers the clocks (apparently on Alienware M17X with 16Gb it only runs at 1333Mhz)

    - Does it run warmer in the palm rest than the HyperX 1600Mhz?

    Thank you,
    Best Regards to All

Some people have had luck with it (assuming you mean the Plug and Play JEDEC variant and not the the XMP stuff). However, it doesn't work for everyone as there can possibly be stability issues which require a lower frequency of RAM.

It does run a bit warmer as well, though again, not significantly so.

Thanks for the reply, and yes I meant the PNP. I'll receive tomorrow my (2x4Gb) 8Gb HyperX 1866Mhz CL11 PNP, and I was considering in the future to upgrade to 12Gb or 16Gb, after reading this post http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/616010-anybody-have-hyperx-x-4-modules.html#post7971607 . But recently I read some bad report at the Alienware M17x forum, which made me concerned about this...

Does anyone has/had this "bad" stability issues on P150HM already?

    Best Regards to all
