Hi, it's me again. I was looking over the specs of the P150HM offered by different resellers and some offer 2x4gb ram and others offer 4x2gb ram. Also the 4x2gb only comes in 1600 speed while the 2x4gb can come in 1066,1333 or 1600. Some of you might be sick of answering this, but I can't find any solid info that I can understand. I am not an overclocker so it doesn't matter to me in that aspect. I don't know anything about tripple channel, dual channel, latency, and any of those other big words. I heard that more ram decreases battery life too, does faster ram do the same thing? What do you think my setup should be? Thanks again, I love this place.

if you want to save $50 go with 4 modules, you wont see any diff in performance bet 1600mhz and 1333 , its probably 5% , not worth the money.

2 modules will allow u to run 1t command rate. 4 modules wont allow so its faster to run 2x4gb

plus the 2 free ram slots gives you the option of upgradability. what are you gna do with 4 sticks of 2gb when u want 16gb of ram? (if you ever feel itchy)

There's really not much of a difference between going 2 x 4GB or 4 x 2GB. 8GB RAM is considered a good amount of RAM and you won't need much more than that unless you're going to be doing some VM work.

Junhan's got a good point though.

Went 4x2gb myself. I can't imagine ever using over 8GB. If I wanted to upgrade to 16GB I would want to buy all 4 DIMMs in a kit anyways since RAM is so cheap now.

4x2gb should last you until 2x8gb is affordable or your laptop is obsolete, whichever comes first lol Supposedly though having less ram sticks means less wear on the motherboard

Saving 50 bucks seems like a no brainer, but wouldn't 4x 2gb consume more power than 2x 4gb? Both options are 1333 isn't it?

Even light gaming might not need over 4gb. So the other 2 modules could just sell to others or give to friends until cheaper 2x 8gb comes.
