So earlier this spring the 6990m burned out in my p150hm from malibal. I ended up replacing it with the 675m, and had to go through some hoops to get the nvidia drivers to install (modding the inf files with the correct hardware ID's, following this guide http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...675m-its-driver-clevo-p150hm-sager-8150m.html ). Anyway, I just bought a new ssd, and did a clean install of windows 8, which meant running into the same driver issue, except this time it won't work!! I followed that guide, both in normal and safe mode, running setup.exe as admin and normal, and nothing is working!
Details: before the inf changes, the driver install says "supported hardware not found". After the inf edits, the driver install process works until the point of actual installation (choose directory, install options, etc). It then starts the install, but very quickly stops and shows "display driver: failed". No clue what to do, please help!

Update: I tried to force the driver install through device manager (browsing to the unpacked nvidia driver), and got this error...
"The hash for the file is not present in the specified catalog file. The file is likely corrupt or the victim of tampering."
