Hi, can someone please inform me if my P150HM with Radeon 6990M have dual-link support from the DVI port?
I would like to know this because I'm buying a new external display, and if I have dual-link I will buy the Benq XL2411T 120hz screen :) Otherwise it seems pointless to buy that screen.
I have spent alot of time searching around the web to find an answer, but no one seems to be really 100% sure about this.
    Thanks.

Does it have a Display Port? If so that will work too.

Doesn't have DVI Dual-link, even though the port looks like, dual-link support only exists with the nV GPU's

    Hey guys,

Just bought asus vg248qe which could go 144hz with dual link dvi.
Thing is i thought p150hm with 6970m would have that output because:

    - the graphics card supports dual link dvi.
    - the p150hm has dual link dvi output port.

Can anyone explain me why the hell the output isn't dual link dvi enabled? Could that be done with some tweek inside the laptop?

What if i change to a gtx560m would that come with dual link dvi connected?

    Thanks

It's a limitation with the AMD MXM board I believe but you could create a custom profile and at least get around 100hz out of it most likely. You could try with the HDMI too to see which gives the best results.

I used 120Hz on my P150HM with DVI (Dual-link) but I had a Nvidia 580M. That ATI will be your problem :/

If it works with nvidia that means there's nothing wrong with the motherboard. Its something with the graphics card.
But as 6970m specs says, this card supports dual link dvi. Could it be something to do with enabling it in the VBIOS?

    ;((((((((

    I think it's a PCB routing issue.

Machine has no displayport or header for one so you can't get one.

As for that card, it prob won't work. I think 680M is latest card people have gotten to work in this machine. The 675 is basically the 580M and the 680 is a fairly decent jump over the 580 fwiw.

The 770M might work, the MSI non optimus machines have worked with them.
